Hi Guys, Just Wondering what tire size would be good to use with Tokico Illumina's with tein S tech springs on Enkei 17x7 rims? Tires that dont have any rub when hitting bumps (not huge bumps) BUT I shouldnt be rubbing going over the small ones... Let me know..

Thanks!

Can't answer that question without knowing the offset of your 17" rims. If your running the stock rims (55 offset) you should not be rubbing with 215/45 over any bumps. I have a set of 17x7 sparco wheels with a 38mm offset and I rub just barely in back with 215/45. I'd say a 42mm or greater offset and it would be fine.

Have you rolled the fender lips? I would try to make room instead of going with a smaller tire.

I would agree with this. You will notice a difference in handling going with the smaller rubber.

I also forgot to mention this in my previous post, but I also have the Tokico Illumina shocks and you shouldn't be rubbing the fender unless you have some crazy low offset rims.

Again, you need to tell us what the offset of the rims is. AFAIK, Enkei doesn't make any 17x7 rims in our bolt pattern with a low offset (<42) that would cause rubbing.

Im not sure what the offset is. My rims have a universal bolt pattern like 11 holes or something.. Ill give you more info when i get home im at work now.. Whats the quickest way to find out the offset of my rims??

Keep in mind my tokico illumina's have the S tech springs on them which drop it quite a bit. and now i forget my tire size but i think its like 215 55 17 or 215 50 17 something like that... again ill double check when i get home.. and no i havnt roled the fenders.. Ive never done that and dont know how.

Roll the fender lips, you shouldn't rub after that unless you are running +35 offset or better. Look up on youtube there are plenty of ways to roll the fenders or you can do it the proper way with a kit that bolts to the wheel hub and radius's the fender

If you want new tires stock tire size is 215/45R17 so a 50 series tire probably does rub

Turns out that is what i have on the car 215 45 17... the fronts are fine but i have diff tires on in the rear right now because i needed them bad... i work at a junkyard and these things were like brand new.. but they are snow tires and have alot of knobage lol so you think thats probably my problem?
