Hey guys, this is my very first thread !!
Donno how many of u would have had this problem, we get this kind of tick tick noise from the driver seat while cruising ?? we checked all over the seat but couldnt find any thing stuck between the seat and the electronics below it ??
any cure??

Bu "cruising" you meant with cuise control engaged or simply running at high and fixed speed?

Does the "tick tick" sound change frequency as the speed increases?
That would be the 1st syntome to identify the cause of it.

Not in cruise control but just driving at random speeds on high ways or even at times while braking, and the tick tick noise randomly changes frequency independent on the speed.

The seat belt buckles on CX9 hit the pillar trims randomly (more like vibration-dependent) if not placed properly.
Could they be the cause of the "sound"? I won't call that "tick tick", but no better guess from me.... (if not speed dependent)

...also just to add, I was going to suggest the driver side seat belt buckle. On my Mazda5 this thing made a ticking noise and later turned into a squeak, needless to say I had to replace it and noise was gone.

Thank You guys, but somehow the noise seemed to have stopped since yesterday...........anyways if it continues to pose a problem then i go about ur suggestions.

The CX-9 has a nice solution for the 3rd row seatbelts to eliminate this problem. The clips on the sides that secure the belts when not in use also have a slot in which to slide the metal tab of the buckle. This keeps everything nice and secure and quiet. (To many this may be obvious but I don't use the 3rd row that often and just discovered it.) For those of us who don't travel with passengers all the time, it might be nice to have a similar setup for some of the other seats.

We gave our cx-9 to the dealer yesterday and they identified the problem, they claimed that some pin was causing that sound and that they have diagnosed it !
