Thunk heard when reversing while turning the wheel hard right?

Hey all,

I'm hearing a 'thunk' when I first start the car and reverse out of a parking space while turning the wheel hard right.

Normal? Is it the axle, the tranny, or (dread!), the damned engine mounts loosening??

I just joined the forum to answer your question. I had the same problem you have. It took the dealer 30 days to figure it out (if you are a member of the "other forum", search out my detailed thread called "dealer problem").
It was finally fixed by replacing the drivers side steering knuckle. I would take it back to the dealer and get it done.

I got it too....backing outta the driveway wheel turned to the right...sounds like front left side. Shall talk to my dealership soon. Only happens when I am turning and hit a bump coming out of the driveway though.

I have the exact same issue but it doesnt happen all the time though.

Usually going to hear it from a cold stat or after it "settles" for a bit.

Thanks for help. I guess i will go talk to the dealer about it this weekend.
