thumping?

Weird questions, but I got my H&R Springs installed last week. This morning as I was driving to work, I have this weird thumping as I drive. I thought first that I had a low/flat tire so I pulled over to check it and my tires are fine. I suspect that there is something up with my suspension. Any ideas???

Blown shocks. Look to see if there is oil leaking out of the shock bodies. I would bet there is. Mine blew at about 72k and go clunk clunk clunk over bumps. Started with just the back left and within probably 5k miles it was both back shocks and the front drivers side strut.

stock shocks can't support stock springs, much less lowering springs that place a ton more force on them....

I haven't replaced them yet because of the cost. I plan to get Koni yellows in the near future on all four corners though. For now I've just been dealing with the horrible sounds the car makes as well as the rediculous sag that occurs in the back end when I lay into the gas pedal.

that would be the absense of rebound damping if the front

Nonsense. Your struts are fine, yes they will wear out faster.. but at this point there is nothing wrong with them. I'd hedge my bets that you have a loose endlink on your rear swaybar.

I had it looked at wednesday afternoon and there was nothing loose from what my shopguy saw. (sadbanana)

Do you only hear the thumping when going over bumps? If so, from the rear or front? Or is the sound constant and gets faster the faster you drive?

It is only on bumps that I am hearing it. and it is in the rear. After about 25 mpg it doesn't happen.

And I may drive up and have you take a look Madvillian, I'd appreciate it.

and the sound is more of a "dink" than a thump i guess. kinda like if a "thump" had a baby with a "ding". . . . lol

It's either a distracted lumbar connection or a misalliance of the propulsion component. I hope that helps!!

Agreed. Retighten your rear suspension while it's fully compressed. See if that makes a difference.

just got my H&R springs on, and i have a similar problem, mine make a loud clunk noise going over small bumps and even cracks in the road, everything is tight and i have no clue why its doing it too...
