Thule Roof Rack

For people who have put a Thule roof rack on thier MSP I was wondering which fit kit you used? I am trying to put a Thule rack on my MSP using fit kit 2069 but am having problems getting it to...well...fit. I'm using the 400 aero foot mounts too.

It's funny, I was just about to order the 2069 fit kit so I could use my old Thule rack... Maybe I'll hold off, Let me know if you get it to work...

Thule's fitment guide says to use the Aero 400 foot pack with the 2069 fit kit, so it should be fine. Our roofs/doors are no different from a normal Protege.

I'm gonna try again today if its not raining. maybe I juts got the rubber pads backwards. It looks like the rack sits ok on the roof but the metal clamps that hold the rack in place don't seem to want to fit flush agaist the inside of the door jam. I'll keep ya uptated.

If you look really closely, you can see little lumps on the frame of the car on the top of the door opening (with the door open; both front and back, both sides)...really closely...feeling might work better.
I think those are the ideal mounting points for the racks. I've got a Yakima and ironically enough, after following their instructions I saw these little lumps exactly below where the feet mounted.

Mess with the clamp adjustments..the screw thingie and for one reason or aother, my experience has been that looser fitting actually clamps tighter/more flush, not vice versa.
Good luck.

Another forum member mailed me and said he got it to work with the 400 foot pack and 2069 fit kit. He said the shop he ordered it from installed it for him. Guess I'm just not doing it right. just wanted to let you know cause you said you might hold off.
