im throwing this code constantly, p2009. intake manifold runner control stays open.

this control is either vics or vtcs. i just installed a 626 manifold and i left the vics and vtcs sensors plugged in. after a 100 miles or so, i decided to unplug the vtcs sensor and then i threw this code. i plugged it back in and it went away???? wtf, i have a mp3 ecu with my mp5, why is this cel going on. my mp3 ecu is the newest verison, is it possible the newest mp3 came with vtcs?

no s*** sherlock, you have to keep the s*** plugged in like everyone said to!
so there wasn't a problem with the s*** plugged in, so leave it plugged in... why care?

lol the point of this thread was to find out if any versions of the mp3 ecu have vtcs? i have the ecu, i am wondering why it recognizes the system. maybe you can answer that for me genius?

none of them do
your s*** got the code because it freaked out about VICS, what you thought the MP3 didn't have that?

I think the genius is trying to tell you in a very blunt & realistic fashion that you typed in what the code definition is so now read what you typed. VTCS does not equal runner control. That would be VICS's job. Check again what you have unplugged because the car, OK the ecu, thinks you have unplugged the VICS & it cares about that.

ok i unplugged the light green plug, the vtcs control. since i did that, the car thinks vics is not working? is that what you are saying?

No MP3 had VTCS...You must have unplugged the VICS sensor by accident...I'd just keep them both plugged in...

so whats the check engine light for vtcs btw? if this code is for vtcs and i do not have it, i do not see how this can be possible? is there a way i can check if i have the mp3 ecu other than the number? is there away i can check for advanced timming?

The code I found in my manual for FS says P0660 for VICS & P1512, 1569 & 1570 for VTCS. Highest one was 1699. Different codes for mp3 ecu? My autotap software displays that when car running but not sure where you'd be able to chk that.

like I said, if you unplugged the correct thing and the s*** still lit up, then you probably don't have the mp3 s***

why don't you pull the box out, get a pic of the sticker so that we'll know what you have?
