Throttle Response

underdrive pully, then lightweight flywheel.. and motor mounts are a must!!...my MP3 ECU helps, but mostly upper end...the mid punch and response from the header, and midpipe combo..(keep the exhaust on the smaller side) if fact at deals gap i like the stock cat back pipes to the MSP exhaust better than my big 2.5 exhaust system.. i lose so much low mid TQ with that big pipe set up.. MUCH more response from the stock size pipes with headers and mid pipe!!

KHAOSMAN:
I was thinking about the mounts... 95 duro maybe

MHREBIN:
MP3 reflash is a no-go. My P5 is on tap... while I'm on that subject, I've driven both the manual and the tap both very hard and raced a manual twice with my tappy and I find that there isn't a lot more, acceleration wise, from the manual. That is, if you shift the tappy just under the fuel cut. So I don't wanna hear any bitchin' about my tapshifter! Plus, I can sip a Dew and have a smoke worry free.

HO BAG:
Mind telling me more about the coil pack upgrade? How does your car respond to the upgrade specifically?

WRCPROTEGE:
I can dig what you're saying. I'm not even considering a big exaust system. I don't want to turn my racer into a ricer that, from a block away, sounds like the angels are passing gas from on high.

Regarding the UDP, It was between that or my Weapon-R Secret Weapon Intake. I chose the intake, but that'll be the next or second to next mod.

I've also seen something here and there about cleaning the EGR. Will that make a noticeable difference at all?

OOOHHHHHH, AUTO!!!!!!!!!
dam, the TQ converter is eating up your response.. not much you can do about that...mabey you can tune your TQ engagement thur the ecu or tranny and control the TQ converter.. some years ago a friend had his auto tranny in his escort retuned at a tranny repair place, it shifted much faster and harder, dam near a chirp in 2nd.. this is hard on the tranny!!, so an tranny/oil cooler should be used.. dont know much about the AUTOs ...sorry.. if you kill the auto, just swap to an 5 speed

I won't need a piggyback unit will I? And what might a transmission cooler cost me? And how will that help me? I know it'll get hot in there (so take off all your clothes) but I'd think it would be more of a gear-toughness problem, or am I wrong?

Hayden Transaver Plus about 50.00. Synthetic fluid flush about 100.00. Lentech Performance Valve Body kit about 450.00. Your tranny thanks you.

autos use clutch packs etc, these can get to hot and burn up, thus needing a tranny rebuild... now you can go to autozone/pepboys, etc and get an trans cooler kit for 50-80bucks i think .. i thought you can adj the valve bodys on the tranny itself, thus making it shift faster or harder or later... like i said i dont know much about autos..

Auto? Hell pack it in now. Go buy a manual.

Like I said before, no bitchin' about the auto P5. I've raced two manuals and in my experience, if you know what youre doing, you'll be almost matched. Plus, you can sip a Dew and have your cig while passing an Eclipse.
