Hi Everyone,

This is my first forum posting and I wanted to pose a hypothetical question.

If you could only have 3 bolt-on/PnP engine performance mods, ignoring price, what would they be and WHY?

I've had a Speed3 for 3 years and I'm going to start moding it(PT warrenty is gone). After going through hundreds of posts I've been thinking

Engine management
Intake
Downpipe

I'm already a Cobb snob so you can guess what I'm looking at.

Looking forward to different opinions!

Ah, yeah, I'm picking one of those up also.

Any plans on upgrading you're exhaust?

BTW, I lived in Newfoundland for 6 years, was able to get over to Montreal a couple times, great city. It'd be awesome to get a bunch of jacked up speed3s going through Old Montreal.

My speed is a 2009 so i want to put part that i can take off quickly + the exhaust on the speed3 is a very good one, the only problem is the cat

That's what I've been thinking, no sense in messing with the cat-back, just replace the DP with a high flow cat.

What fun is limiting it to bolt-ons? :)

How about:

CPE SB
CPE DP
CPE Rmm

Perhaps that's a hint into why I went back to stock. LOL. I'm a CPE fan.

It's still my DD, I don't want to get in to deep!

Something about the standback doesn't sit well with me.

I think the CPE DP vs Cobb DP is a toss up, they both look very good.

I'm sure the CP-e vs Cobb debate will go on for a long time, and I hope it does cause it means better product all around!!

Cobb makes awesome parts; not going to argue that. I just prefer CPE since the majority of their parts are not "discontinued" like Cobb.

From reading around though, it appears the Hypertech is hard to compete with also.

The HyperTech programmer rocks!

Only 3? That's so hard! I can't pick... but if I really had to...

CP-e SB
CP-e catless dp
CS Full intake

I tried to select parts that were sold combined to cheat a bit... in reality I'd get a 2 piece DP/TP and a different SRI/TIP.

I think an often overlooked mod is a short shifter,,, awesome stuff. got used to it so quickly though that now it feels like a regular shifter.

anyhow, have fun, 3 mods will turn into 4 and 5 pretty soon. :P

1. CPE TBE (turbo back exhaust)
2. Cobb AP
3. RMM or SRI (after three years, you most likely should go with the RMM since your stocker is probably already wasted.)
