That's not a good deal. The 2017+ models are a much smoother ride, and offer much better features. I guarantee you can negotiate a new 2018 for a very similar price. I got my new 2017 Touring + preferred package for about 23K + tax/fees ($25,265 out the door).
Also, Mazda is offering 0% APR for 60 months on new CX-5s.
Email every Mazda dealership within 50 miles from your house, use google maps. Tell them exactly what car you want (color, trim, packages) and how you plan on paying (cash, downpayment + financing) and ask them what's the best price they can get you on a new one. Yes, you'll get a ton of emails, but I received offers from dealerships which were offer $2,000 less from other dealerships.
I guarantee you'll get an offer for a new one which is close to that 2016.5 used one you're talking about.
