If all you peoples are into time traveling type of stuff. YOu should watch a movie called Donnie Darko, unless you have seen it, if u have see it again. Its a hella tight movie
Being able to relate to another would probally be impossible. How would you consolidate the timelines for all of the people who are moving at different rates through the universe. It's like the problem of the twin astronauts.TXMazdaSpeeder said:i believe time travel is possible from what i've read/heard/discussed but my question is this...
if it is possible then would one person be abel to go back in time and the rest of the world stay in place, or would all time for everyone be rewound?
YES YES YES! It lost its "locality."ToBeBackDoc said:Stephen Hawking's book is great for this subject but a little tough to read. I thought most people believe time travel is not possible due to nothing travels faster than light theory? But I did hear a research department actually shot a laser through a tube of some kind of atoms and made it exit before it completely entered. There's something to think about.

Wow, you really know your stuff. I still have to take some physics, espsecially for my major. I just hope its not hard. I had heck of trouble understanding Chem...Well in theory time travel is possible, well based on physics...There are three types of particles that move at or faster than the speed of light, leptons, and i cant remember the other 2 at the moment but i'll get my old astronomical physics book out and look them up. At any rate a key characteristic these particles have is that they move faster as they loose energy on an exponential curve. so when energy level reaches zero speed reaches infinity(im using the term speed losely here to cover velocity, speed and acceleration). ON the black hole question. Its not that a black hole accelerates objects to it faster than the speed of light, but rather that it promotes a red shift in the objects around it slowing the apparent travel of the objects. The majority of time dialation theory and such is based on the fact that light is trapped by a black hole, indicating it must have gravity on some level. If light has gravity than it is subject to the laws of physics and should be able to be manipulated. If/When time travel becomes possible there are 2 important characteristics to remember. A. You will only be able to observe the past and B. Though you will be able to go to the future, it will be not b/c time accelerated faster, but because you accelerated faster than the time field around you. To explain point A. say light travels at 100mph and the shooting of Kennedy has just occured. Ok well it leaves earth at a speed of 100mph. after 1hr its 100miles out and so on. Now if you were able to travel at 200mph and you left earth a half hour later, you would simply travel for 2hrs and you would be 150 miles or 1.5hrs ahead of the viewable event and thus would be able to travel to the past(observable only). Point B. is best described by time dialation...ah its so nice to talk about something other than cars...
THAT WAS IT!!!!!!!! that was the thingy i was describingyashooa said:Tachyons,I think, is another.
I remember having the article marked from a news site but I can't remember which one. I just remember it was a laser shot through a tube containing cesium atoms or something.yashooa said:http://www.gallup.unm.edu/~smarandache/Russo-faster-than-light.pdf
I am still trying to locate the Italian chamber experiment where a particular type of particle moved faster than light.
