Thoughts for Mods of the Mazdaspeed

I would like to know what some modifications that you have done or would do to your Mazdaspeed.
I haven't done anything yet except put Mobil 1 synthetic oil in it. I would like to do some more stuff to my car though and here are some of the things I was thinking (and of course I would like to get a ton more ideas!)

First off cosmetic:
TINTING; - I miss my tinting! At least it is raining non-stop in VA so I don't have to worry about it as much!
Moonroof!; - I miss this too, but as I said non-stop rain doesn't make it seem as missed!
Hood; - I miss my aggressive hood scoops on my Subaru Impreza, (any good suggestions let me know!)

Power, Performance:
Well in this area I am not sure yet; I don't want to go too overboard till I know how much I can spend! Plus I am having a hard time finding parts on the internet for the Mazdaspeed. If you have suggestions for any good websites PLEASE let me know!

Welcome aboard! And; listed below is what I have done so far.

don't get too excited dude, there ain't much out there yet as far as go fast goodies. comestically more and more stuff is popping up but nothing that really hot looking. the car looks pretty good on its own so i don't know how much of that you want to get into.

there's a bunch of generic aftermarket stuff like gauges and turbo timers, you can change the fluids in the tranny and differential, oil. i think there's a couple of cat backs but no full turbo back or even a god damn down pipe for the thing. you can throw the K&N filter on which will allow you to hear your turbo spool alot more along with your BOV. speaking of BOV's that seems to be a pretty popular mod to do. we have recirculating BOV's on our cars so try to stick with that unless you get into an HKS SS BOV but that brings about other issues as far as mounting and whatnot.

there's no real full intakes out there yet but if you do some looking around you'll see that one of our cutest members SpiceyMSP had Injen fab up a cold air intake (CAI) for her that they're suppose to be mass marketing but haven't heard too much about that yet so its still not out. shortly Spool Turbo should have one and a hard pipe kit for the car. they currently have all the intake/intercooler and turbo pipes off my car and will be using those to make the hard pipes. so expect some goodies to come from them. i think that about does it for now.

I have a turbo to IC hard pipe w/HKS SSQ BOV, Ground wire kit, Intake, and I removed the cat back section (just today) for faster turbo responce. Also I have Red Line MT-90, 10w30, and waterwetter, also just installed the front and rear mount pasport radar detector. I bet mine is faster than yours!!!

I like having a sunroof. If I have the windows down the air blows on my daughter in the back (at least it did in my old car) The sunroof gives fresh air, a little sky, and well I just like them!!!

I had a 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS coupe. His name was Pych Blk - because in the beginning I had big big big designs for him involving everything on him being black! Plus I love that movie!!!

cosmetically get a cf hood, tint it, and get a front lip and some eyelids... if u wouldnt miss the performance lower it a little... i wouldnt lower mine because its not worth it.. but if you are more for the look ehh do it

Just to let all of you know I am a she not a he!
And yes I had a regular Impreza. I got it the year the WRX came out and I got it for the reason that it looked a lot better than the WRX. The WRX got those bubble I want to look like a Neon lights and it turned me off! I went with the 2.5 RS so I could add a turbo myself and it would have blown the doors off of the WRX; still could of if I had done it!

the older style 99-00 2.5RS were arguably the the best styled ones to date. i'm still wondering why Subaru went and gayed out the WRX with those neon headlights.

hey I-am-stupid, you might beat me now but when you have a problem and you take it for any engine related warranty work the mazda tech's will find your hollow cats and laugh when it voids warranty, and also check with mazda to see how much the cat section costs out of pocket. good luck w/emissions cause OBD2 testing will fail it.
