Those exhaust tips are hideous

dont know if anyone cares, lol. but i just got my exhaust custom made by a shop called lou's in new hampshire. 2.5" cat back no mufflers and they made it so the end of each pipe sits about a quarter inch inside the bumper/stock tips. looks awesome and no problems with anything whatsoever....my tips are pretty warm, with a glove on, if i touch them after driving my car 'spiritively'. my guess would be 110 or so degrees maybe at most

Still looks the same. You need some sort of tip on there to match up the O.D. of the Pipe with the I.D. of the tip.

i've used wire/chrome wheels cleaner and soft scrub brush. works perfect every time. you can also somewhat clean the tips of the exhaust itself as well. after cleaning, polish the tip, it seems to make it easier to clean next time.

If you like the quiet drive at 80 MPH then thank the Mazda team that did not feel like it takes a 5" cantaloupe launcher tip to get respect.

The guy that started this thread drives a Passat! Get a life or an MS6. Either way quit whining about what you don’t have.

To add a little more substance to the topic...The exhaust is attached to the frame by rubber grommets and is free to shift about. The bumper is bolted to the frame and is not able to shift. A gap between the bumper and the exhaust is required. No matter how big the tip was made it would not be as big as the hole in the bumper.
