[rant] ok, so i dropped my car off yesterday at 12:00(lunchtime) to get an excaliber atv1000 alarm, with keyless entry, motion and shock detectors, and a blue led scanner put in, then i went back to work. i wait until 315, call, they tell me it should be done within a half an hour.(no problem thus far)...i go to get it(leaving work again) at 4:00. they then tell me they thought i was the other blue car, and mine's not done yet..."come back at 5" they say... getting pissed but it's still ok. i go back to work, finished out my duties, and punched out...ok, now it gets bad!...
i get there at 5. my goddamn car wasn't done yet!...i stood there for a ******* hour an a half more before the owner comes out and tells me "they didn't hook up the led scanner yet, come back tomorrow"...ok, whatever at this point just give me my ****** car. THEN, he tells me that the piece of s*** installer didn't put keyless entry on, didn't add my motion sensors, and didn't hook up something else. these mother fuckers had a rookie working on the phattest car in the goddamn shop!!! so, im heading down there in a few minutes to flip the **** out!!! my car was there overnight, and now im gonna have to scan the whole damn thing for dings, and scratches....and if i find anything out of place...i'll snap necks!!![/rant]

I'd be snapping necks if I were you too!

How the hell long does it take to install the security system anyhow...if they weren't ready to install it then they should have let you know to begin with and you could have brought it in today instead.

As for mixing up the cars...that's just retarded and a pathetic excuse....I'm sure the place doesn't get hundreds of cars in a day....get their damn s*** together.

tell them you will come back to pay. give it about a day or 2 then give them a call and tell them you'll be in there in a few min. go in at the end of the day and pay by check.
CHECK YOU MILAGE AND MAKE SURE THEY KNOW YOU CHECKED IT thats what i do. f them

ok, so i went down there this morn. and, the owner had to end up cutting out EVERYTHING that the asshole rookie installed and starting all over again. so, i should be getting it back pretty soon. they need to just blow me! oh, and i already checked the miles, and for any scratches. none found, no probs with mileage. oh, and the dude tould me that the "rookie" was docked pay and written up. bulls***.

Hehe I like C Rae's idea...and if they call to complain about you not paying yet tell them you mixed up their store with another store. :D

And what is the discount they are giving you for having some rookie screw up your stuff? I'd be getting a discount, seeing how the equipment won't be in top condition as it has to be installed twice. Might as well be considered used.
Wish I could be there to help you bust some balls. I love that sh*t! My coworkers bring problems to me so I can call suppliers and get problems handled. Kinda fun being a hardass. :)

the first installed one was cut out this morning before i got there and was "put back in the box to send back"(also bulls***!!!) anyways, i seen the one he's putting in today, the brain and all were still sealed in the factory plastic...i made damn sure he didn't re-install the first one. and i'll check one more time before i leave there! good to know you guys feel my pain! discount my ass! i gaurantee u all that i nor my friends will ever shop there again!

Derrick, raise some hell

As a shop manager, specializing in security, I believe they definitely owe you some kind of reparation for what they did. I NEVER EVER EVER put a rookie on an alarm, especially on a limited edition car like this. I give my newbie's at least a year of "prove yourself to me" time before they touch a security system. A talented installer would have this done in no more than three hours. That would be my book time, and I solder most of my connections.
The other problem is the part about having to cut it out and start it over again. Not really a problem for the product like cjstringer says, but your cars wiring's been hacked into, and the wiring for the alarm's already been messed up. I hate nothing worse than re-installing a used alarm, not for the brain or product, but the wiring's all a mess. You need to make sure that the owner or whoever re-did it actually did it right. We're talking a lot of liability here, (alarms get into a LOT of electronics with the car). I could go on forever, just check your s***.
Sux you're in Maryland, I could tell you what they f#%^ed up if I could see it.

Hey derrick you'll have to let me know what shop you went to so I don't. When I'm home from school I'm in Severna Park. I should be making the trip home in two weeks to pick up my P5 from the dealer. Maybe we can meet up.

Matt

the place is called "pasadena car sounds". yesterday, when i got my car back...i took a drop light under my dash to inspect the wires. all connections were soldered, and everything looks straight. damn shame it took the dicks so long to get it right. i saw the rookie while i was picking it up, and i told him..."next time you do an alarm...make sure you know what the **** your doing!" man i was pissed!!!

Hope it all works out for you man.
No discount? Man I'd be pissed. It took what, 2 days? That's BS.

Oh well, at least the little blue monster is a little safer now. :)

yeah, me too! i told him just to hook me up with the pager system in a few weeks as my discount (sells for 239...i get it installed for 160.) so, yeah, the "blue streak" is doing great now!
