Mazda protege 1.8l 4 cyl
So I bought my 2000 Mazda protege two months ago and since then I have has to fix exhaust problems and now I have gas in my oil and my fourth cylinder is misfiring is there any way they could be from the same problem I diagnosed it my self but that's not saying much I think I need a fuel regulator and a coil PAC any suggestions

gas in oil will make the oil look really sooty, kind of like diesel oil. and depending on how much gas is in the oil sometimes you can actually put a lighter to the dipstick and it will start on fire. i wouldnt recommend driving the car much in this condition bc the gas can take away the oils ability to keep your engine lubricated.

go to an auto parts store and get them to clear the code. then swap your coils around, and i bet that missfire code will switch to a different cylinder. if not then you need to check plugs and wires, IF thats all good then you could have a fuel/mechanical issue

So do you think the gas is in my oil bc of the coil can the coil make that happen I know it's not the spark plugs or wire I just changed them and you know that was smart I dint think about switching them around and yea I'm pretty shure it is gas in my oil

a missfire will most certainly get gas in your oil once the cylinder walls get washed down from all the gas since its not being ignited. get it fixed asap bc it puts a lot of stress on the engine

So I changed my coil pacs around to see if the mis fire switched to a different cylinder and my car won't start it turns over but it won't start so I switched them back around and it won't start I even unplugged to battery to restart the computer and nothing any advice bc it's much needed and I know I hooked them up right and my battery is reading a 13 so it's good I have no clue

Does it at least turn over? Check the wires leading to the coil packs and the springs inside the tubes to make sure they are contacting the spark plugs.
