thinking about selling

2006 Mazdaspeed 6
I'm thinking about selling my Speed6. Don't get me wrong, I love every last detail about this car but there are a couple things about it that is raising issues for me. All of the mods I plan to do for my car are going to cost quite a chunk of money...a chunk I don't have. Also, i always find myself speeding and racing people and it's inevitable that I'm going to get another ticket (already got one for 71 in a 45) or maybe even crash. Plus, the modding life seems very fun, but there are so many things you need to understand and learn about it and it also seems like there will always be money going into the car. I'm not 100% sure I'm selling it yet, but I and my parents think it would be a good idea. I love this car and wish there was a different way to help this situation but nothing has come up. I'll keep y'all posted on what happens.

It's a shame you feel that way. What do you have done to it so far? I know the modding bug is a hard one to shake, but what are you considering going to after this if you sell it?

their is a way to avoid racing people and driving fast. it's called self control. you dont have to race someone just because they are revving their engine or taunting you. as far as the car modding goes, thats a tough one to shake no matter what kind of car you drive. seems like once you start ya cant stop

The only thing I've done with it was take off the mazdaspeed 6 badge and ordered the speedline badgeless grill.

Just out of curiosity how old are you?

A little self restraint goes a long way. Unfortunately we all have to exhibit it.

I'm 17 and no matter how hard I try, if there is someone next to me staring at me or the car or revving their engine, I go. I really need to learn self control. I'm looking at a Tahoe Z71 right now. But if I ever feel the need to speed, I always have my moms car...Supercharged Cadillac CTS-V. (evil)

Honestly, selling your car seems like a cop out. If you can afford it, keep it, but learn to NOT be a ricer. Just because someone revs up a car next to you doesn't mean you should follow suit.

sounds like a dumb reason to sell a car. modifications cost money on every car, so i dont know how you can complain about money doing that unless you go buy a civic then parts are cheap.

you seem like you would end up like one of those kids that takes their parents and crash their car racing it. sorry for saying that but i just seems like thats how you come across since you have no self control and you said you would take your moms car and race it. if you want to race go to a drag strip.

and if you can't control racing against someone when they rev their engine at you then you have other issues that need resolved other than selling your car.

and yeah yeah, now you can post back saying thanks for being a doosh or whatever but i dont care.

Yep im with bova. Sucks that your thinking about selling for those reasons especially with this economy. Aftermarket parts for the speed 6 are average price or even cheaper than average. Only car you can mod for cheap is a honda. Even SRT's cost decent penny to upgrade. Ive also been hit by the mod bug. just have a goal in mind and be happy with your car as it is.

Don't speed . . . enough said. When I drive I always baby my car, accel slow, and go speed limit. Every time I see a modded evo, sti, supra, or any decent mod car, they are going slow :). I follow suit to pretend im as badass as they are in my badgless speed 6.

Do you HAVE to modify it? Why not just drive it stock if you love it so much, and occasionally treat yourself to a part or something? As for the self control, you'll have to learn that no matter what you drive, or you'll probably end up losing your license or hurting yourself or someone else. It isn't that hard to let some idiot peel off the line at a stoplight and not go with him. You should seriously look into track days near you. I can run all night on the dragstrip for $20 on Test and Tune Fridays and it gets a lot of that out of my system.

bova, i get what your sayin. same with all yall. but just cause i dont have money to mod or need to speed isnt the reason im selling it. im kind of just tired of sports car. and OJ you have a good point. just to drive it stock and occasionally treat myself to a part or two. but anyway, im still not sure on what im doing but well just have to wait n see.

Hehe not trying to annoy you but the speed 6 really isnt a sports car. Sports car imo is a car designed for speed / handling over comfort. I would stick the speed 6 in the same class as accord v6 and the likes. Once again im not trying to be an ass but im curious to know why you want to give up the speed? Too big, too small, need better mpg, hate manual trans, bored of the same car, cant afford it . . . ?? Pick a reason :).

same issue here. even with an unmodded protege lol. [ Only Happens When I Am In A Mazda :D]

i'll even trade you for my NA 3. once some one revs their engine u'll race them and go no where ;) kills ur adrenaline and you dont go over speed limit lol (band2)

hey if you want to let me know lol

good luck on getting that Tahoe Z71 they're pretty sick and there def. way too many cops in brentwood i was there working over the summers...so u're better off with a slower car. being that you cant control your self just yet.
