Thinking about buying protege garage intake mani..

So I'm assuming that all of these dyno numbers are for a boosted car? Has anyone done this with a N/A? Does it help it or hurt it in the low end?
N/A gains are closer to 7-9whp.

no, I understand that but I think EMS is going to be my last mod. I cant really decide between afc ex6 or mpi :(

No, but you'll obviously getmore out of it if you tune EMS for it.

worth the money for a n/a car???
defentaly.. it's probaly the best bolt on you can get for an N/A short of mabye a better EMS like a unichip.

So is the throttle response a little better too?
the people that have it report noticable throttle response improvements.

Does anyone know if the egr that comes with the manifold from protege garage has fitment issues or was I just reading some bs?

It's a pain to put in and IIRC, even though I bought SU's, it doesn't fit perfectly, but it was close. What worked for me was to put it in the mounting bracket on the engine, loosely attach it to the IM, before I had the IM bolted down, then loosely attach it to the EM, by maybe three or four threads on each side. Then I tightened the IM to the engine, tightened the IM side of the EGR tube, the EM exhuast side and lastly the bracket. Now it fits fine. Initially, it was a pain to get it on the EM, because I seemed about 1/4 in too long.

So what are the down sides to the intake mani? Someone said something about cold starts, what exactly is that about?

just gotta let the car warmup longer otherwise you'll get a few hiccups in the beginning. this is not fact, just from what i've read from 2 people or so

jusy a fyi , i couldnt get the o rings from the auto store, since the cars so new. i had to get them from the dealer, i ahve the PN if anyone wants it. tehy are like 5 bucks each or so tho.

is SU's "performance" intake manifold a custom number or is it just a ported 626 mani?

I dont mean to thread jack or anything but I have that ugly rattle when the car starts up. I always thought it was my turbo mani because its not totaly tight atm due to my motor mounts being out. could this possible be the IM and do I have to worry about s*** fallowing into my motor? !!!!!!

That noise you hear is the butterfly valves in the stock MSP intake manifold. It is partially closed on cold startups to warm the exhaust temps up quicker. Thats what this manifold from protege garage is all about... getting rid of that crap so you have more air flow.

So whats everyone talking about these loose screws dropping into the motor n s***?

thanks for the quick reply thou :)
