i would recommend it, its thicker will last longer and yeah it will lower compression but will not affect a boosted car for the reason being that they run better with lower compression and you could even up the boost a bit to even things out, im putting one on my block(2thumbs)

Do just alittle research. Go to cross over auto dot com and look at his selection of HG from Cometic. He even list what the compression will be(approximate). You can run a thicker head gasket but if you are using a very thick HG you may want to tune for it. Lowering the compression while not tuning for it will tend to make the car run slightly richer, so yeah you can run more boost but you need to monitor it.
