i have been loving driving my ms3 for 6 months, but lately even more. when it gets cold, i get out rock climbing. as you can imagine, rock climbing happens up in hills and mountains and this means twisty mountain roads.

(sigh)

this past weekend i was hauling ass down a fun windy county road, not trying to go fast, just doing what the road and car would allow. when i looked down i was doing 120.(boom01) almost shat myself.
what an amazing car. i've hauled some ass on german autobahns, even coaxed a tdi up to 150 once, but 120 on a rolling, sweeping hill road just blew my mind.

nice job mazda. now please fix our pcv systems so our turbos stop smoking.

120 is nuts bro! slow down a tad bit so you can continue to enjoy your ride and your life!! ;)

yeah, thanks! i wasn't planning on going that fast. now i know i gotta keep an eye on that speedo...

maybe i could video myself doing this on public roads and get arrested. that would be fun! lol

I agree - these cars are a blast! Even after owning the speed3 for over 2 years now - I never get tired of driving it! Can't say that about any other vehicle that I've owned!

+1 on speeding on accident.

First night I got the car i didn't realize I was going 90 in 60 on the highway..

i hop you were alone and no other cars around you

I am just learning my new 2011 MS3. I can't belive the closing speed to other vehicals. I was stepping on it one a two lane in the wide open I saw a mini van way up ahead....I closed in on him in no time...I wasn't done having fun! I slowed down and behaved...*L

haha thats why they call it a speed. :) i love mine too. picks of speed so quick. i love when i take corners on the snow fast, begin to slide and the car corrects and keeps hauling :) DSC is amazing!

and how! i had a toyota corolla rental car a while back, and i was a completely different person when i drove it. i would just get in line behind all the other sheep on the road with out even thinking about it. i love the way my ms3 keeps me alert and feeling connected to the road. when i die i'll be burried in a "comfy" coffin, until then i want a quick fun tight car

out on an empty country lane. the popo love interstates and we have such low population density that when i get out into the country there is almost no one around. and when there is i behave. what other cars have you had that were as fun? just for future reference...

Been driving for 5-6 years now. This is my third car and I'm going on my 4th year driving my MS3. I swear, I could drive it until it dies. It doesn't help that it handles soooo well in the snow. I think I've perfected snow drifting lol

^ I was about to ask how you got a 2007 in CWP, but you're in Canada. Damn you! Probably got heated mirrors too... (sadbanana)

^No heated mirrors, but the Canadian 08.5 hyper gunmetal stock rims ;)

*EDIT
Actually, I think I do have heated mirrors. I've never thought about it before

yup...4th year now and love it still.
so much fun...so practical. When out on the track, I sleep in the car the night before.
gets me, bike and all the gear to the track and back no problems...all that with 28mpg.
I lost count how many times I go "will this fit ?" and the item "barely...just fits" and hauls as much stuff as a mid-size SUV.

I don't know if I'll ever buy anything else but a hatch, they're just so practical.

I bought my car recently from a friend who specifically warned me "keep an eye on the speedo at all times, this car will sneak into *outlaw* mode in a hearbeat."

That said, I have promptly ignored his great advice and found myself zoom zooming along at a nice clip more times than I can count.

I bought an ms6 way back when right before the ms3 came out, and now that it's gone, I wish I had waited and gotten an ms3. I test drove an ms3, and almost pulled the trigger on one, but financially I couldn't afford it. :( I bit off more then I could chew with me insane car purchases from 2004 to to 2006, but if I could, I'd trade in my Rabbit for one. Thought about trading in both the Rabbit and S2000 for one, but I love my S2000 too much. I hope to one day own this car. My Rabbit is BORING, although comft, smooth, and refined, but there's no enthusiasm whatsoever. ENJOY!! :)
