Thermal spacers in addition to Jet-Hot coating?

I am having my PG intake manifold Jet-Hot coated along with my CAI and hardpipes. I am thinking about getting at least a intake mani thermal spacer while I have the mani off and am wondering what you guys think about that? Do you think there would be any additional benefit since the Jet-Hot coating should cut down on alot of heat? Could the thermal spacer cut down more heat? And should I bother with a throttle body spacer as well while I am at it? NSN sells the intake spacer which at the moment is on sale for $39 but they no longer have the TB spacer. Outlaw Engineering has the ThermoBlok spacers kit for $99 which has both the TB and intake spacer. Any advice, input, opinions, thoughts...? Thanks (yupnope)

I have the Outlaw E. spacers on at the moment, and it does in fact keep the intake mani temps down. My hand doesnt get burned when putting my hand on it since i added the spacers.....so adding those to the Jet coated mani should make it that much cooler

Intake mani spacer will make it difficult to use the intake mani bracket. The only way it will work is if you use spacers or something. Not worth it if you ask me. I've heard the spacers are susceptible to leaks. The throttle body spacer is not neccesary, IMHO. I doubt either of these things will give you relevant gains. I would spend the money on something else.

So it would probably cool down the air a little more which would be good but the cost may out weigh the gains? I kinda was thinking that may be the case for the Outlaw kit since it is $100 but the NSN intake one for $39 doesn't seem to bad. I can't think of anything else I need or want for that price range at the moment. Working on cars is not my thing so other than basic stuff I let a shop do the work for me. As a result I don't know about this intake manifold bracket but it sounds like I may run into fitment problems with it, can anyone tell me more about that? Also please keep the thoughts, opinions, advice, etc...rolling in. Thanks.

You guys didn't have to alter the stock bracket in anyway at all??? Maybe it just seems like every write-up I've ever seen has had someone complaining that the bracket doesn't work unless you do some bending.


Ghost One, I'm buying a set of thermal spacers too, I'm also having my 626 manifold Jet-Hot coated. Look at it this way, it can't hurt performance, it doesn't really cost that much, and you might as well since the manifold is already going to be off the car.

Nope, I torqued the manifold bolts down and then attached the bracket no problems.

Yea, ive read from a couple members that the lower bracket doesnt line up properly.....and caused leaks from a certain member torque'n down the bracket too tightly. For all i know, they had some kind of spacers too and caused that mis-alignment....

I personally dont have mine on.... i removed it a long time ago, and dont plan on adding it to the 626 PG Mani. If something in the engine bay is not a MUST, its gone. Trying to keep it clean...

That is what I was thinking. I will check with my mechanic to see if he thinks there will be any fitment issues or if he had any problems with the bracket back when he first put the mani on. I don't think I am going to bother with the TB spacer since there is not a affordable one around.
