The ULTIMATE OEM Intake Manifold Comparison Thread

FS-ZE, the one with the harmonic box, the box sit on top of the manifold right.... that one i DON'T have...

Gotcha.

Yea I wish I could get my hands on the JDM FS-ZE and 626 manifolds as well to do some comparisons, but they're way too rare. You have one of the few FS-ZE Proteges, and ogsp5 is the only one I've ever seen with the JDM 626 manifold.

krazie- in your post#4, picture 4. the stock mani i guess. it has a little green and white filter thing with hose coming off of it.. i was wondering if i could buy that from you...i lost mine.

this the pre-2000 mani....correct?

ha!
i just noticed this thread....wtf?
i swear alot on my posts...you could've edited that out...no problem.

from what i saw, there is a big difference in runner size between the 2000+ mani and the pre-2000.

i am debating re-installing a MSP manifold after removing VTCS and VICS and see if there is a big difference...maybe even dyno it.

we'll see...don't have much time anymore

ok i peeps its been a min since i been on but I took pics of my intake mani that came with the car whe i bought it. now when i bought it had a blown engine it was missing the head. i had enginge blocl, tranny, all snap on part alt. starter. etc.... excet the ehad. simple right? not in my case my car is acting up so im wondering if my intake can be the issue. so here goes... who can tell me the 4-1-1 on my intake manifold.

and for the record i have the intake with VTCS .... and the oner one.. s*** i cant remember the otehr sensor the sits on top of the mani. next to VTCS.. anywho you get the idea. my question is... that if the manifold that originally came when i bought it (see pics) would need other mods done... cause i dont have to vacum lines for the two sensors that sit on top of manifold.... with the one of the pics. hope you follow what im saying. would the ECU have to be differnet or something.....

You don't have VTCS.. or VICS for that matter. Your car has the sensors and plugs, but the intake manifold doesn't. That's a 626 manifold of some sort, I think it's a JDM 626 IM judging by that resonance chamber underneath. I've seen that IM once before, and I think the guy selling it called it a JDM 626.

That manifold should work fine on your car, the VTCS and VICS sensors on top of the manifold don't need any vacuum lines because the intake manifold doesn't support them. Your ECU is fine too, as long as the vacuum ports on both sensors are all capped off and plugged in, the ECU will be happy.

P.S. Those are good pics by the way. I'm gonna add them to the list, thanks :)

ok ok thanks man for the heads up... my i cap the sensors and see what happens then cause i just put the car together ans it starts up fine but whe i hit he gas its sputters. im gonnna change and see what happens.... and you are welcome for the pics. thanks again.... i let you know how this intake performs with my car.... thanks again

ok si as long as i cap the two sensors on mine im ok... now i only have two pin holes to connect my vacum lines to... how do i work woth that i have more than two... do i just need to make sure they all connect to the intake. right? thats what im thinkin... hit up

you could also create a 3/4 inch nipple and attach a vaccum manifold block to it.
posibilities are endless there...

You're gonna need to figure that one out on your own. Just go to your local auto parts store and get a whole bunch of vacuum line and vacuum T's.

The big nipple on the manifold is gonna be for the brake booster line. It's a thick line coming out near the firewall on the driver side. The rest are all small vacuum sources such as your fuel pressure regulator, cruise, etc.
