the Stance Thread v2.0

Alright, I'm sure this has been asked about 994678001245 times in this thread/forum, but what is the widest wheel/biggest offset you can fit on an MSP without major fender work? I'm looking at 17x9 +28 or +42. I won't mind rolling the fenders or maybe some pull. I want to stay with a 17" wheel and I like 'em wide. A buddy of mine just put some STR 17x9.5 +20 (215/45/17) on his Scion TC (yes I know it's a completely different vehicle) but they fit really well and he only needed to roll his fenders and is on coils. I'm not lowered yet, but want either tein s tech's or yellowspeed coils. I don't really need the adjustablilty of coils, but it would be nice. So let's hear your thoughts, go!

+28 you are going to need a bit of camber and definitely want your fenders rolled.

9j +42 is going to be close to the strut, not sure if you will have issues or not. I'd go with the lower offset.

I'm running 17x8 +30 with no issues and only about 3* of camber in the back. It pokes by about 3-5mm but running a 205/40 tyre the fitment is perfect imo.

So I finally got my hands on a good set of MazdaSpeed MS-01s, 17x8.5 +40 wrapped in 235 40's. Took me over a year :(
Front can come down about 15-20mm, rear could come down another 10-15mm but need stiffer springs.

Anyway.. Some pics

Do you have any rubbing? I didn't think Protege's could run a 235 with a +40 offset. I've wanted to run 235's with a 40 offset for awhile but was always under the impression that they would rub ( unless you run a lot of camber ).

Car looks great. I love the MS-01's but I've only seen them in 18's.

AAC Link kit helps here alot, I am rubbing on one RHR corner, still trying to find the cause I might have a busted coilover.
You wont be able to run much camber unless you have camber plates up top. If you adjust the camber at the hub with
this size wheel and tyre combo it will hit the coilover

Thanks for replying.

I forgot about the AAC kit, and couldn't figure out how you were able to get the rears to fit.
