the Stance Thread v2.0

Thanks! I promise I will get some actual pictures soon. With a camera instead of the cell phone. Maybe on Friday I can find some nice locations and snap a few.

Specs are still BC coilovers w/ 135mm 10k springs up front and 180mm 7k rear springs. Dropped all the way down in front with collars still in and the rear has no collars but retained the perches. Wheel/tire specs are AME Circlar Spec R in 18x10 all around. Front offset is +5 and rear is +10 and I have 215/40/18 Hankook Ventus V12 tires stretched on them. I know the offsets are backwards from what would normally be done but the faces are made to clear big brakes up front and the lip is a little smaller. 5" rear lips and between 4.5 and 4.75" front lips. Lol

When is our next Sonic meet? Gotta see this in person

Do any of you guys have problems finding a shop to stretch tires?

It took me over 4 hours to find a shop in town that would do it!

My normal guy couldn't do it at his shop anymore but when I asked around I found a friend of a friend less than 10 minutes from my house who would do it. Dropped the wheels and tires off the next morning and he dropped them off at my house with my brother while I was at work since it was on a Friday.

Hector I am off tomorrow. Is Sonic busy on Friday nights?

You mean shops can't or won't stretch tires? Luckily there are a bunch of performance shops around me that will do it no problem. Even some smaller tire shops have Cheetahs so they can stretch no problem. Hell even America's tire did 215/40's on a 9 for me.

Avoid large chain shops. Most won't do it. I first tried at Discount Tire because I bought my tires from them and when they wouldn't/couldn't do it I took the wheels and tires straight to my local Mexi tire shop Ortiz Tire and they popped them on no problem. Cheaper too.

I've been noticing that as well. The local tire shop I went to last charges 60 to mount non-stretched tires and 80 to stretch. All of the tire chains I have gone to charge at least 100 to mount tires you don't buy from them. Why have I been wasting my money on chain shops when local shops do it for better prices and I can support a local business?

There is a small shop by my home town that only charges $5 a tire and another $% to balance. $40 = Winning!

There is a local shop that I use that charges me the same. If I'm just mounting or removing tires they'll do it for free.

One last pic of the wheels mounted up and dialed in. They have since been removed and are for sale. Anyone interested

Another local P5. This lovely P5 resides near my hometown. The owner currently has it up for sale. Sitting on 17'' Axis wheels.
