The Only 2 Missing Things

Are bluetooth and sat radio built in from factory, instead of dealer intalled option. i got the sat radio (sirius) intalled for 599.99 sounds good, good installation too, but factory installed would have been better.
i dont care about the i-pod or mp3 stuff heck im 41 i just buy the cd if i want something..

Oh, I can give you a list of missing features - some don't matter to me, but others do.

Lack of iPod pisses me right off... especially since some of the features of the radio itself are really lame. The "random" function doesn't act as it should and there's no mute (if you have tech package) and no pause. Satellite radio is great (I have it) but really, lack of at least an aux input for the iPod is silly.

Memory on power seats would be real nice.

The auto-headlights are way too sensitive.

Also, the adjustment for the highlight level (on GT models) should have the dial and numbers illuminated. You cannot see them at night which is exactly when you'd be adjusting it!

The fact the AC light comes on whenever you hit "auto" for climate control is really disturbing - LOL

Not a big deal, but vanity mirror lights would be useful.

As you said, no bluetooth :(

Yup, they are mostly minor annoyances and I DO love the car... but I'll tell ya, the radio "issues" are really starting to piss me off!

Stuff Missing

YES, and the radio should have more power for the bass i like to hear, at above 32 volume, have to keep bass at 3-4 depending on the type of music that you are listening too. needs more power. maybe becasue of the age, i just dont care about i-pod and mp3 stuff. memory on the power seat though yes that would be nice.

Some minor gripes I have that hasn't been mentioned yet:

1. A Fuel economy gauge would be nice. Something that tells your MPG, how many more miles till empty, etc.
2. rear cargo compartments, where the spare tire resides....not big enough to handle even my portable vacuum cleaner
3. only one map pocket located behind the front seats (only drivers side)
4. Bottom part of doors (inside) gets dirty....it should not since it is inside.

But, overall, I'm happy with the car. I love it. It has everything plus much more than the SUV it replaced (97 Montero Sport LS). FUN TO DRIVE. Despite of fuel economy, I'd rather have a fast car. Very responsive and the brakes are second to none. Plus, you can't beat the stares and looks it commands from people who has seen it.

CX Rabbit.....why is it that the A/C comes on when you hit auto? I'd use it it it weren't for that.....is that normal?

it's not just the CX7, most cars run the A/C when you hit auto. My gf's Accord does that too. I read that the temperature is easier to control with the A/C on as it removes some moisture from the air (in both cool and hot temp settings). because of this, it also removes condensation/fog that forms on the windows.

Yup... chopstickhero is right. It also says in the manual that this is normal. There is an "AC economy" mode that automatically runs when super-cold isn't needed (and I assume in cold weather).

For what it's worth I've been tracking my gas mileage with and without auto climate control turned on and it doesn't seem to significantly impact MPG... at least not that I notice.

I have a hard time getting passed the AC light coming on though... don't know why... it just bugs me!

About the A/C coming on in "Auto" mode... I guess you guys know this but when in "Auto" mode, you can just switch A/C off and it'll still maintain the set temperature automatically, even though the "Auto" indicator is switched off. Just a heads up for those that weren't aware of this.

Otto,

That's true... it's like a "semi-auto" mode. The downside is that certain things will not be adjusted automatically. I haven't quite figured it all out yet, but I know when I'm not in fully auto mode I tend to be playing with the strength of the fan more often.

LOL, i wonder what the designer is thinking when they are making these modes. "hey, let's trick the driver and have 20 different types of auto modes so that they get confused."

Seriously! I feel that way about the radio too... no mute, no pause and a wacky random function... it makes no sense considering it's a TOUCH-SCREEN system. They could have easily given us a "button" for pause! LOL

Sometimes you have to wonder what happens in the "testing phase".

Thanks for the help gang...I did not want to ruin the A/C or anything....I'd turn it off but I was not sure if it stayed in auto mode. Why can't it be simple? Yea, wonder what they do in the testing phases! Well, will see if I use it. Thanks for the input!

Well, it's not going to "ruin" anything. The AC light comes on in full automatic mode but the AC doesn't always run. Keep in mind, the reverse is true when you're in manual mode... if you put the vents on defrost or defrost+feet the AC will be on but the AC LIGHT will NOT be on (it's in the manual). These systems are made to run this way, so nothing is going to get ruined.

see, that's why i skipped the auto climate control altogether and went with the (apparently) rare Touring trim. i like that the climate control knobs are big and easily worked w/ gloves on. plus there's a stereo mute button on the steering wheel. ;)

LOL Dmitrik - climate control issues whether they are auto climate control or regular still apply. AC kicks on automatically and sometimes indicates it, sometimes not. It's right in the book.

I am envious of your mute button ;)
