The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

swapped the summer wheels out on the 7 after i was getting a whole bunch of noise from the rear end somewhere. The dealer said it was probably how much tread was on the tires and what not. It was winter and i didn't want to mess with it. Took a mini-trip this weekend & the noise was unbearable in the backseat. people were practically screaming to talk to each other. Jacked it up in the air & tried wobbling the each wheel & couldn't get any movement. I spun the drivers rear wheel and nothing. Spun the passenger rear wheel & i get this dragging sound. If it is the wheel bearing, it should be covered under one of my warranties. I figured i might as well do it since there is this emissions recall for it. Something about it not being able to pass e-check or something.

Potty training went well but made it so I couldn't really do much else except laundry and organize the office. She's getting the hang of it and went all by herself this morning.

Forecast looks decent for the week so maybe I can knock one out a night. Need to check my rear brakes too, started making a slight grinding sound on the way to work today.

Funny story from the weekend. Sho was over on Saturday, and I was going to turn the radio on in the car while we were outside. I grabbed the spare key for the first time ever. Not even sure why. Put the key in the ignition... no workie. Went back in the house to get the other key and saw that the patterns weren't the same at all. Just got back from the dealership and swapped out for the correct key. Now, here's the funny thing. The guy who had my key, and I his, works at the Barberton Post Office about 1/4 mile from my office. He was originally looking at my car but I bought it before he had the cash. I would have rather had the car that he bought because it had more options. I just didn't want to pay more money.

It's been pointed out by an esteemed colleague that this thread is turning into a FB style "status update". Boo to that nonsense.

Your wish is my command

When popping the hood of an LS swapped Muscle car would you rather see
a) Bassically and New LS in an Old car?

b) EFI system that looks like and old school Carb'd motor?

c) ITB's

Can I pop the hood on my Japanese car and see a Japanese engine instead? ;)

I'd like to see other motors being swapped in other than LS's. But any of the above options listed by Nate are cool too.

Good topic, Nate. But I don't know jack about muscle cars.

What are some of your favorite engine notes? For example, the Mazda 787B gives me goose bumps every time.

I love seeing multiple carbs, but so many people are doing away with them. For good reasons, and bad ones I'm afraid.

I agree, I should've made the disclaimer I was day dreaming about my Camaro where an LS swap makes perfect sense. New Chevy motor in an old Chevy car.

Don't need to know jack, just what looks best to you.

I miss the screaming F1 engines, but don't think the new ones are terrible. Ferrari 250 GT Lusso video (http://youtu.be/AVuSf6tkfpQ) gives me chills.
This is a cool build, but I like the new engines..
The ITB set-up posted is new school throttle bodies meets old school multi-carb looks like the last Ferrari Phen posted

I do too, they just look bad ass. Holley has a LS EFI Dual Carb Intake Mani but I haven't found a lot of info on how it works.

Of the three I posted, I think A) is the worst. It looks like a half-assed build leaving the oem intake mani. The idea is to take an old car and throw new stuff on it so it's old looking(ish) with modern performance. When you pop the hood it's just disappointment. With B) you can have EFI with the old school open air cleaner look or C) the multi-carb look that just completes the entire project.
