edit- John, that guys wheel came off because he painted his stock calipers red. Not because of the lug nuts.
never had problems with my orange calipers, just the rest of the car

I knew about the Voltron issue but now others.... snow balling as always when it comes to a CS product fail. It seems they have constant issues with QC.

I want to rig up a set of microphones so you can sync some good audio along with your GoPro. Though I'm sure someone already makes a kit.
I'll have to watch the whole thing at home later. That's a cool angle though, #2. I hate it when it's on the bumper and you don't really get a feel of how the car is rotating. It's like that first person view in Forza I hate so much (that Phen uses). haha
I've had some no-name brand aluminum lug nuts (recommended by AutoRND) on the RX-7 since the first set of RPF-1's. Granted, the car only saw one Hyperdrive and 7/8's of a single HPDE weekend but I've had the wheels on and off more times than I can count. Not once were they loose. Does CS recommend a certain torque? Maybe that wasn't followed or isn't correct. I know when I got my first set of RPF-1's the manual that came with them had recommended torque values for both aluminum and steel lug nuts. I think I was torquing them to 85 ft-lb but I can't remember. I need to check the manual again. Yes, my wheels came with an instruction manual...I use 949 aluminum lugs on my Miata which sees a fair amount of track time. Never once have I had a problem.
Oh, and they are considerably lighter than steel lugs.
This got me thinking. Would anyone be interested in a "league" where we all race comparable versions of our own cars? It's been a while since I've placed Forza but I'm pretty sure they have most Mazdas. I just think it's be kind of fun to try to gage what our cars would do versus one another. Sure obviously concessions would have to be made (no USDM MSP and N/A RX-7's in Forza) but I imagine we could get pretty close.Speaking of... let's get some Forza going again.
I dunno about torque specs. But I torque mine to 80.
Everything points to the guy not using extended studs.

Yep, user error. And unfortunately MSF is going to blacklist CS for it.

I knew about the Voltron issue bu...f the threading that should have been used...
