The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Wow I'll have to change them more often to be safe. The stock spark plugs lasted until 70k miles LOL. What plugs are you running? I'm currently running Denso Iridium ITV22 Spark Plugs.

I haven't found anything like this yet, but it would be sweet if there was a service schedule that showed how often you should actually replace stuff (as opposed to when Mazda tells you to). It would be like a collaboration of the Mazda community recommended stuff. It would also be cool if they listed a ton of additional parts too (stuff not listed in Mazda's schedule).

One step colder and cheap as ****. Granted, I have a different car than you, but I was told that my best bet is to run the cheapest plug I can find by Keith Tanner, so by God, I'm going to listen to him.

He said to run the cheapest?

Yup. $1.80 a piece for my plugs. Miatas eat plugs. Boosted Miatas eat plugs faster. Boosted Miatas with horrible tunes eat them like candy.

Iridium plugs last me 6k miles.
Copper plugs last me 5k.

$24+ difference for weaker spark and simliar life span. I'm sure the DISI reacts differently, but I know what my choice is.

I thinking about going to Nelson's Friday Sept 27, anybody care to join?

Fun day?

Yep, Miatas could give a s*** less what grade unobtanium your plugs are made out of. Besides copper is the better conductor of electricity anyways.

I usually get about 6K-10K out of a set of plugs on the FC, and thats pushing it past what most recommend.

I finally got around to uploading my videos from Mid-Ohio. Here's my 7th session (last of the day). A lot of people left and this session was open to all run groups. My fastest lap was a 1:45.2 on the Club Course. Unfortunately, it was cut short due to my engine misfiring and throwing the P0300 CEL. I also posted the videos from sessions 2-6 and you guys can browse through them on my YouTube channel if you're bored. Session 5 also almost ended badly LOL.

I want to rig up a set of microphones so you can sync some good audio along with your GoPro. Though I'm sure someone already makes a kit.

I'll have to watch the whole thing at home later. That's a cool angle though, #2. I hate it when it's on the bumper and you don't really get a feel of how the car is rotating. It's like that first person view in Forza I hate so much (that Phen uses). haha

The microphones would be a great idea. You could put one inside the car so you can actually hear engine and tire noises...instead of the wind.

Exactly. It's like every street racing video of some nice cars. "Hey, that's a sweet 1000whp Supra, would be a shame if, I don't know, someone stuck the camera out the window right into the wind.". God dammit. haha

That's why I put the camera inside my car. Haha.

Speaking of my camera, it's still in the Miata... Haha I should get it out and get a video off it.

This blows...

I knew about the Voltron issue but now others.... snow balling as always when it comes to a CS product fail. It seems they have constant issues with QC.

So a little bump about the Sunday photo shoot for the Ohio MOTM run. I say we meet up Sunday at noon. But the location is yet decided. I'm okay with Menchies parking lot and using the big bush as background. But a lot of these MOTM competitions really come down to how well they are photographed.

Anyone have any location suggestions?

And Menchies is a go tomorrow. :)

edit- John, that guys wheel came off because he painted his stock calipers red. Not because of the lug nuts.

Silvercreek park is quite nice this time of year. Patrick, did you get a chance to scout out the amusment park again? That might be an awesome shoot.
