The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Let me ask you married guys something, is it weird that your wife cooks for you?

I always feel weird on the rare occasions my GF makes me dinner. Not sick to my stomach weird, just like it's the 1950's and where's my dinner, woman! - weird. I don't think I would be able to get used to coming home and her making me dinner.

I don't for two reasons. One is she's home a lot earlier than I am most nights and it makes sense for her to cook so were not eating at 10:00. The second is before we were married, my wife was spoiled all her life ( her laundry was done, meals were cooked, groceries were bought, etc.) So, for lack of a better phrase, I am forcing her to learn how to be self-sufficient. That doesn't mean that I expect her to cook every meal, have my clothes pressed for the following morning, stuff like that since I cook a couple nights a week. I want her to be able to take care of herself in the event I'm out of town or dead, and she can take care of herself. And she's become a great cook because of it.

I like how these are the only two options, you can't just be sick or something?

I'd love to be able to cook, i used to work night shift at a tim Horton's- i'd run around the kitchen all night putting frozen doughnuts and soups in stuff that heats them up... not really cooking from scratch but i liked the making food part.
...of course i hated a lot of other stuff about that job.

I wouldn't feel weird if someone made food for me, but that doesn't matter because when i move out i'll be microwaving or boiling stuff for myself and eating granola bars alone for the rest of forever :P

I definitely enjoy cooking. The one thing that kinda sucks is that it's hard to cook for one. On the other hand, I have plenty left over for lunches at work. I have a friend that I work with who invites me over for dinner once a week with his wife and sometimes another friend of ours, and vice versa. Gives me a chance to try new stuff with an unsuspecting victim.

No because I like food but can't cook.

This is my situation. Hahaha. But my wife is an awesome cook, and I am getting better at it. But when your growing up and your Dad teaches you to blast the food with heat (flame) your not usually that good of a cook. Hence my wife being good at it. But I don't expect her to cook, and I don't think it's weird or anything.

My wife makes supper every night; whole family sits down to supper like we're the Cleavers or something. It's awesome.

I'm a little late to the party, but about the twin turbo diesel AWD 6. I think they should either make it where it has to be ordered or limited production, and each one would be numbered. That way it's not a major hit for them, and people who want that can have it. Just a random thought.

I watched that top gear- thanks for the link, now i want as cx-5. More.

When people start having trouble with the diesel bi-turbo thing... that's when i'll strike

I don't remember who it was looking for a Ford Focus Hatchback for a DD or something. But I seen one for sale at a small car dealership over here in Indiana. It doesn't look bad, so whoever was looking for that wants to contact them here is there info:

Veenstra Auto Sales
10720 U.S. 30
Wanatah, Indiana 46390

They do not have a website, and I believe at one time they were asking 3,900 for it. An that's all I know so if you want more info contact them.

My thoughts on todays subjects.
Wife/girl friend cooking. Jen cooks most of the time and I am fine with it. My mom did it 100% and she and my dad were fine with it. However I do lend a hand and help out or cook meals myself. I look at it like this, it is quality time spent with your significant other that she will really like plus you feel less like she is serving you. Think of it as a date type thing.
Job stuff. Do what you enjoy. Period. If you dread going to you job obviously it is not for you. I for one like working more with my hands and less with my brain.

If only I could get a job where I get paid to drink. Then I get to use very very little of my brain, work on my curls, and make my taste buds happy :)

since the topic of cooking came up, i personally love to cook, i enjoy it, and to be honest im pretty damn good at it now (had to cook for myself since i was 18) IF i were in a relationship, id be fine cooking every night as long as she helped clean up afterward, i love the cooking, hate the cleaning up part afterwards LOL
