The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I highly doubt it. I think it's driver error.

For those who aren't hip, there's an Ohio cat with a GenPu MS3 with 11k miles on it. He took it into Mazda for service (guess his clutch was slipping) and they aren't covering it. I don't want to sound like a dick, but I am a dick, so he needs some lessons in driving a manual.

He posted a video last week of his rear hatch window and rear wiper bouncing all over from the subs in his trunk with the title of "Dat flex.". Lulz.

I'm too old for this s***...

Heck, Shalon had 223k miles on her original clutch. My MS6 has 145k on it's original clutch. Granted, that's all the previous owner.

Was this person the one who had to turn up their music and stand by the big retaining wall for pictures at the one Lizzard meet?

EDIT: I'm sorry, but I have tought 4 people to drive stick on a single clutch that is still going today. Killing a clutch in 11k miles is just insane.

I've know a few people that the clutch was defective and actually fell apart at 30k miles, but that's very rare (friction material fell apart in chunks and came off the steel clutch plate)

nope the silver one is the one in question. The blue one is the one that makes everyone's head hurt

Correction: Plasti-dipped one is in question, Think the car just threw a giant f you to the driver

I might still have my old clutch sitting around somewhere. It looked brand new when I pulled it - around 15k? And I did track days and autoX on it.

I'm a huge fan of 'beats,' but I will never destroy my car by 'flexing' my windows. After a year or two he'll have the leaks from every hole of that thing and definitely hope he doesn't get any kind of LED lights - those will fall apart the same day.

There was also that video that was posted a while ago of him missing every gear "racing" a challenger or camaro or something of sorts

sell it to him and get a little cash. I'm not perfect at driving stick but some people get it some people don't.

8pm for menchies in Fairlawn?

I wanna ride with this clutch killer so I can give him s***. Someone point him out next time I'm around plz

Well, that could be your problem
But if it isn't showing signs of being bad (pedal going to the floor, etc.)? I would think if I destroyed the seals, which is apparently what should have happened, the MC wouldn't maintain pressure. I'll get it bakc on the car with the ports plugged and see what the pedal does. On the bench I can't push the cylinder in more than 1/8".

why would he expect it to be covered under warranty?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're listed as "wear items," which are never covered by warranty.

Awesome, looks like that guy will be replacing his rear window soon.

Also, no menchies for me, wifie are staying in.

11k miles? thats worse than a set of race brake bads

I'd love a set of race pads to go 11k miles.

I actually don't keep track of the mileage on pads so I guess I wouldn't know if they did.

Apparently what he is forgetting to tell everyone is that it started acting up after he let his brother in law drive the car. Nonetheless he is a terrible driver and deserves this. Maybe he could have some money saved up if he didnt spend it all on the plastip he has wasted on the car. I swear he peels and repaints it every few weeks.
