The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I love Donato's pizza down there. Sucks that they closed the one up here close to 3 years ago :(

Best chain pizza in Ohio that I've had. Pizza King in Indiana is pretty good too.
what major purchase did you make

NOS Full rear quarters for my Camaro. Suckers are very hard to find and only seem to pop up once in a blue moon. Most common rust problems on the 75 up is under the curved part of the rear window and the door jambs. For some reason no one has made a patch panal for those spots but with needing to replace most of the fenders anyway I thought this was the best way to go.

That's a huge purchase.

I've been to the Mellow Mushroom up here and it was eh. I'm looking for something that's truly Cincinnati. Like, we went to Melt in Cleveland because that's a mainstay there. Kind of like how Swensons is Akron, Pirmantis is Pittsburgh, etc. I am looking at your suggestion Nate. Looks good and I liked the one they have in Pittsburgh. Anyone heard of these places?

Hofbrau Haus, was the only reconized Hofbrau Haus outside of Germany, not sure it that's still the case. Haven't been but want to and have only heard good things. It's down the street from the Aqurium if you're going there

there is a Hofbrau in Pittsburgh too... and the funny thing is ive heard the same thing said about that one being the only recognized hofbrau outside of Germany LOL

Maybe it's the "brand" because after looking on their website they seem to have them all over.

Anyone ever been to Adriatico's (sp?) On OSU campus? That place had some damn good pizza if i remember corrwctly

It's not bad, but I'm definitly biased towards Hounddog's. Catfish Bif's isn't bad either.

My boss flew out here from Utah to shadow me for a week a few months back to see how we do things in cleveland and i recommended he try Melt for dinner when he flew in...he ended up going 3 times that week.

Funniest thing ever is he tried a great lakes alchemy hour and after finishing it, he was lightweight drunk. Apparantly they only get 3.2% abv stuff out there unless its a local brew at a restaurant or something.

yeah it probably is... i knew of like 3-4 different hofbrau's they were all the same and all had the same "lore" of being the only recognized one outside of Germany LOL

There aren't really any Cincinnati-specific food places down here. There's Cincinnati chili but that stuff's available everywhere. The Banks on the river in Cincinnati is becoming the new hot spot but again nothing really centric to Cinci. As for pizza, Mellow Mushroom has one location up in West Chester (near me). I've been there once and it was decent. My favorite pizza is from a local place called Fratelli's. Best New York style pizza I've found outside of New York.

In other news I'm seriously considering getting into autox with the 2 while the RX-7 is still down. Thinking about stock class since few modifications are allowed and they're easily removed for daily driving.

Finding aftermarket wheels within the offset rules is near impossible. At least I read it as same diameter & width with +/- 5 mm of offset.

There's nothing available in 15x6 with an offset of +40 to +50 mm? Maybe not aftermarket wheels but I thought some Miata wheels were 15x6 and in the ballpark of that offset. I'd really just be looking for the lightest wheels possible in the correct diameter and width and use spacers to get the offset assuming it's greater than +40 mm.

My workout shake is more than 3.2% (rofl)

My MSM wheels are for sale, should you be interested. Don't know if they meet the requirements

Didn't check OEM wheels since I'm not that smart to check them
So Nate, what is the next Mazda purchace?
99% sure it will be a 2. If a great deal comes along maybe something different but it would have to pretty much be the same price.

99-02 15" Miata wheels fit that criteria.
there we go!

In his defense... Alechemy Hour is a bit over 9% as well. Even I can start to feel effects after the first...

Yeah, I was gonna say... I looked up the website after we had went and on the website, it says there are 3 (at the time) in the US.

My workout shake is more than 3.2% (rofl)

Your workout shake is probably the only one that uses Stoli as a primary ingredient...

;) DEEZ NUTZ!

That's what I thought. Do you know the weight and offset? How hard are they to come by? My ultimate plan would be some lightweight 15x6 wheels with an effective offset of +40 mm paired with 205/50R15 Hoosier A6's. If I do get into this I'll probably stick with the stock wheels and tires and not be competitive for a while just to get the hang of things.

I'm pretty sure those are 17" right? Stock class required wheels have to be the same diameter and width as stock and be within 1/4" offset.
