Panama is close to Colombia. I was too young to drive there but my dad did plenty of driving.
My dad use to work there, had a Nissan Sentra. I've been to the canal, free trade zone, Contadora (island 1 hour off the coast) and different parts of the city. One time we stopped at a little shop to get something to drink, they gave us bottles. I asked the lady for a straw, pitillo, which is what we say in Colombia and she gave me the strangest look. Turns out, in Panama a straw is a carriso. Pitillo is their word for blunt... I was 7.
