maybe not too short, so I can put a car in there, tools, tires and have a bunk to sleep at the track.
I really want an FC, then again I also want one of these...

A buddy and I thought about doing something like that but with a old 50's ford bus.

you can get a bus for about $5k, just have to do some maintenance and have a shop lower it, upgrade suspension and do the door and ramps.
My Dad and I bought really long ramps (2 x 12ft with a riser in the middle) to get a car into the back of a box truck that we have. That would probably be cheaper than all the work you list.
But, I'd love to pick up an old school bus and convert the interior to a living area. It would be awesome for camping at the track, towing the car trailer.

The bus would be perfect for lounging at the track! My friend worked at the service department for my high school and got a school bus (full length) for a couple thousand. It had a few minor issues, but since he worked on them every day, he had no issues fixing it. I'll never forget the day he got it. I had no idea he was getting it and he drove it and parked it in front of my house. It was on a Saturday so I was like...WTF is this school bus doing outside my house?!?!?! LOL
It would be awesome for Mid-Ohio or any other event like that. Pull the car out and chill. I like that idea, but have no idea on how to work on desiel motors. Can't be that hard. Very tempting except I have no where to put one

Screw the bus I will take that car. That thing is sweet.
something that big, hauling that much, Diesel is the only way to go.
SCHOOL BUSES SUCK FOR EVERYTHING BUT BEING A SCHOOL BUS! a friend of mine bought one at a school auction for $500 and turned it into an RV / motorcycle hauler. it was terrible, very slow bad mileage and very loud on the highway. He tried to sell it on CL and everyone low balled him so he drove it to the scrap yard and was. supposed get $1000 for it but some one flagged him down on the way and bought it off of him for $1500.

Yeah I hope so too, but already knowing that two people died you never know... I went out just now to go for a drive through the park with the top down and saw all the detour traffic so I'm guessing it's still closed.

For those of you that track your cars, do you swap rotors along with pads before/after events? Only asking as my bro-in-law needs new front pads on his 05 Tribute but the rotors are in pretty good shape. So was thinking he might be able to save a few bucks and just swap new pads in without getting them machined? I did some web browsing earlier and have come up with arguments for both sides on why you shouldn't do it (possibly warp the rotors, ruin the new pads) and that it's ok to do. Figured I'd get some first hand experience from you guys/gals. If you don't change the rotors, would the bed-in practice be the same?

It's not even remotely as bad as it was before. But I can definitely feel the pedal get slightly stiffer after the first application of brakes.
I have some high temp thread sealant and some ATE Typ 200 on the way so when that gets here I'm going to apply the sealant to the speed bleeders and try to completely flush the brakes with the new stuff. I was bleeding my brakes so much trying to get it fixed before that I would run the fluid through the system and just dump it back in the MC instead of using fresh because I didn't want to waste $20/L stuff.
