Go big or go home? lulz

Yeah, I'll research them when the time comes. That's not for a long while anyway. Thanks for the info, gentlemen.
I'm 95% certain that's actually an FC RX-7 oil cooler. At least, it looks very similar to mine.

Dang, that thing is huge. And that's stock for an FC? Do all FC's have them or just the tubroII's?

RX8's have what, 3 coolers?

Oil temp isn't just a good idea, it's a rotary way of life.

You should still be ok in SMF. What else would you be put in? They dont have unlimited classes do they?

XP

If you can have full billet aluminum cross members you should be okay with a wide body lol

I was thinking the same, but under the rules:
I. Front hoods (engine covers), engine covers, trunk lids and hatches
not containing glass, front fenders, rear fenders not part of chassis
structure (unibody), front & rear facias, and side skirts may be
modified or replaced, and may be attached with removable fasteners.
Associated hardware including latches, hinges, window washer
nozzles, and hood liners may be modified, removed, or replaced.
This does not permit removal of the remainder of the window washer
system. Fenders may be flared as per Street Prepared. Non-metallic
fender liners may be modified, replaced, or removed.
So I can make one off body parts as long as they don'y mess with the chassis. Flared fenders here I come. I'm probably going to have to buy some flexible plastic illustration board to help me get the curve I want. Do I make canards too or just a front splitter?

Yep, same oil cooler on all FC's. All RX-7's have oil coolers. The early 12A SA's, 12A FB's, later 13B FB's, and FC's have the style above while the later 12A FB's have a "beehive" oil-to-water cooler that sits underneath the oil filter. I thought the FD's had a dual oil cooler setup like the RX-8's but now I can't remember if that was an upgrade or not.

Now I'm gona go download the FSM for the FD just to find out, lol

How is your track toy build going?

Hey, it'll still see the street every now and then :)

I just ordered 95% of the engine rebuild parts (seals, gaskets, etc.). The only items I haven't purchased are required for balancing and I'm waiting until I send all the parts to Mazdatrix to save on shipping.

Sounds good, yet expensive.

I hadn't seen an update on rotarycarclub in a while.

I keep trying to convince myself i don't need to do a T2 swap after the 6 is back on the road, but I'm loosing

My MSP will be for sale after nationals next week. If anyone is interested in a track car that has a history of being consistently at the front of its class and has been extremely reliable as a track car, this is the car for you. It is a 3 time TT national championship winner (hoping to make it 4) and holds multiple track records. I also have a few different sets of springs so the car can also be dialed back in terms of oversteer so it will be reasonable for a beginner as well as an experienced driver.
I want to go road racing and I can't bear the thought of banging this car all up. Asking $5800 for the car as it sits. It will have 2 sets wheels with Hoosier A6's that are new for nationals.
Details of the build can be found in this thread: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123701692-My-TTD-build-thread or at www.breesmotorsports.com

What's that?

Poor Corey found a bigass 14mm bolt head in his R-comps when he was changing them out. :(

But you guys just don't understand I actually LIKE working on cars and building my own. Bill already built his Lego set, I don't want to play with it. No offense, of course. Plus I haz no monies.

Wow. Bill, that is a great deal. Best of luck with road racing. I hope all your successes with the MSP continue with the new ride and forum. What will you be going with for road racing?

Oh and all of you should check out Mazda of the Month. CLEAN protege, awesome Cosmo, couple of OH guys, and a few other cars that span almost all Mazda generations. Very low vote count right now.
