When Phen downloaded the 787B we cranked the living room stereo and listened. The idle gave me goose bumps. haha

Picked up a new set of wheels/tires for the BMC this week. I can't wait to test them out this weekend!

That's not a car silly.

How'd they treat you and how much was the alignment?

Very well actually. Much better than when I bought my rotors. It took about three hours, but I guess a lot of the nuts and bolts were pretty siezed (they couldn't adjust the camber links) and they took a quick look at my rear clunk to make sure it wasn't a safety issue. But they honored their $49 alignment special even with the extra work, they matched how I wanted the car aligned, and I got to play some GT5 for like a hour.

I felt bad they had to work on my car though. They were busy trying to tune a badass Viper and a supercharged Camaro. (lol2)

Oh, and the car feels so much tighter now. Steering nice and weighty again and it feels a good bit more responsive. It was amazing how out of wack everything was too. Shouldn't have gone 3 years.

^The BMC on the bike stands for "Big Manly Chris"?

YES!!!!!!!!!
With the new wheels, it's under 17 lbs...I just got back from a 26 mile ride this morning. It was CRAZY quick! We were holding 20 mph just chatting away like it was nothing. I did set a new high on the heart rate monitor....204 isn't exactly a good thing...stupid hill...

Wow, that's nuts. The highest I've ever been is in the 190's when I woke up and threw up every 30 minutes from 6am until 11:30 and got really dehydrated. The lady that checked me into ER told me I'd burn up my heart doing that (like I'd tried to, lol); it was just fluttering and my BP was about 35 over 15, hah.

I need to get back on my bike... I'd shoot for a 15mph cruise speed on the bike & hike path when I was riding. But that was only over about 12 miles.

SO, my brother's really paranoid now. Went up there to demod his SS a bit before he takes it in, and he actually threw out the idea of getting rid of it once he gets it back! He just doesn't know what to expect when he beats on it now or does much else to it. It's a terrible thing to lose faith in your vehicle like that...it's one of the main reasons I got rid of the P5. The SS transmissions are total crap too (he's already experienced some slipping under heavy acceleration) so that's always been an achilles heel for that thing.

The good thing is, he has a TON of equity in it. Trade in would be around $18,000, and he only owes $8,000. His wish list might be a hard sell though...he would want something brand new, or at the very least, something with less than 15,000mi, but only wants to be around the low $20,000's. It also would have to be something "cool", something manual, fast, V8 or forced induction, etc. No soccer mom SUV's or run of the mill sedans. lol

The first thing that pops into my mind to fit that bill would be, a new Speed3. He already experienced them at Mid-O, so he knows what they're capable of. He even still has the video he took of someone's black second gen up on the dyno. LOL I've also found a few Mustang GT's, and Genesis coupes, but that's about it. I can't think of anything else...

During my attempt to install my H&R lowering springs that have been sitting in my garage all winter the rear lower control arm bolt just spins and spins and doesn't go in or out. My guess is that I forced things a bit too much and destroyed the bushing. What are my options now? How do I get this bolt out?

Pics?

With that attitude, I guess it won't be, Sunshine. :D

Hahaha...

It's just a wild, far fetched idea, like AWD in a P5, or a tube chassis, etc. It'd be awesome if done, but definitely a tremendous task. For as many years I've been on Trailblazer forums, I've never seen it done.

Not really a wild idea, it's already got an LS in it, so you've got a plethora of donor transmissions to pick from.... Same with the flywheel and clutch, you don't even need a bell housing adapter or custom flywheel, which is usually what holds up most trans swaps. Find a shop to cut you a custom drive shaft, and fab up some trans mounts and you should be good. I wouldn't think you'd need to modify the trans tunnel as autos are usually larger, but I don't know, I don't spend my time researching them. Take the slave cylinder and pedal from any manual GM truck, and mount that up. It might require a bit of out-of-the-box thinking, but I'm very surprised no one has done it yet.

You'd have a heck of a time blowing up an NV5600. :D

Will, is that bolt in the chassis? Or can you just get a new control arm? I hate rust. I broke a sway bar bolt on my old silver P5 today when Anthony and I were swapping parts to his silver P5 now. I'll never buy another Ohio car.

Josh, Benny needs a Speed3 so he can be a part of the Mazda Family!

Wes, everything is easy when you have the mentality of a 21 year-old... (le sigh)

I'm pooped. I've been wrenching after work everyday since Wednesday. I'll be sad to see my silver P5 go and especially since I've put soooo much work into it. I honestly don't want to see it when I'm out and about. It would be like seeing your ex-girlfriend who you were madly in love with but she dumped you.

Mom's speghetti, Tessa's brownies with some raspberry ice cream will make me feel better though. :)

But in this case you dropped her for a new girl that has been enhanced (hood), gotten around (miles) but not as crazy (rust).
