The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

drove a CX-5 today, it's a nice car but the tranny is not very smooth when downshifting. As you brake, you can feel the downshift, both on auto an manual, other than that I really liked it.

On the other hand, service at Montrose keeps getting worse. Sales people have no ******* clue what they're doing, they guy told me the CX-5 had a V6 engine... no idea about the trims, options, packages or price. What a joke, I honestly can't tell anybody to go there.

As for the bimmer, I was told that no parts need to be replaced. It does need an alignment but it hasn't been done in a very long time, they said they would try but there's a lot of rust and dirt so something might break. A new set of tires should fix most or all of the shaking and stuff. Also said there are some leaks under the car, will have to take it to Marcs and see what exactly is leaking. Oh, and someone stole the car cover last night, I was a little surprised when I went out this morning and didn't see it. I improvised a patch for the top, we'll see if it still leaks but I don't feel like buying another cover for it.

Getting back to your debt topic, don't get me wrong, I want you to be happy too, sillypants. But you said you want to sell the MSM and get rid of your debt. Then you said you'll just focus on loosing weight and doing what makes you happy. Which is totally fine, but doesn't help your debt. So nothing was accomplished. That's why I am confused...

I haven't looked for another part time since I want to focus on myself, and the last experience I had didn't go very well. Selling the msm is a crazy idea I had on Thursday night, which sounds good since I wouldn't have a car payment.

Saw the forum member cinoeye on the road today and ended up pulled up right next to him on an off ramp. That was really cool. Didn't know we both spoke Croatian/Serbian though haha.

I would look around for it, I'm betting that the wind blew it off. It has happened to me before and it has been quite windy lately.

I tied it at the bottom with the rope that came with it, I looked around anyway but didn't see it. Told the lease office about it and she said I could use the garage till someone wants it. There are a couple of spaces for rent but she's not gonna charge me for now. The car was in a blind spot, the security camera didn't get it.

I was going to same the same about the wind and car cover Pablo but since you tied it down.... Sux that someone would come along and take it. I was going to stop at the stealership to take the test drive this afternoon as well but ran out of time.

Pretty cool Ivan, how close does he live to you guys?

so corey and i got a little bit of work done today...

started with some doughnuts, because like i said last time, he always brings tasty treats when he works on cars hahaha.

now on to the fun stuff, i got my fmic mounted but not hooked up. realized i didnt have the appropriate 90 degree couplers so for now its a fake mount intercooler hahaha. also got my voltage clamp hooked up but havent gone for a drive yet.

now onto corey, this picture pretty much summarizes the day (though he didnt get the picture of me bashing off my old fog light with a hammer)

he broke a small piece of the intake mani so we had to do a not so quick run there to grab that piece. but then he ran into issues with the egr not reaching the 626 manifold and not having a TB gasket, but that will all be sorted out tomorrow and we can also toss on the turbo manifold and everything else we can. the day was a pain in the ass really, got some stuff done but it took longer than it needed too and the level of difficulty exceeded what it needed to be. we will get it all figured out tomorrow though, no worries. ccorey had to leave his car here though haha

but april stopped by as well so at one point we have 5 mazdas in front of my house hahaha, and nothing else. i tried to get a picture of all of them at once but i couldnt get em all in a single picture.

anyway, a couple extra pics.

I'm not really sure but if he lives off the exit where we saw each other, it's maybe 15-20 minutes away from the house.

Somehow this is almost always what happens when you work on a car. The project is almost never as easy as it should be.

especially proteges. now he gets to come over in a little bit and work for another 10 hours

I say we all just chip in and build a shop somewhere in the middle of where everyone lives lol.

On another note, I think I'm going to do the New Jersey car corral. I was thinking about doing the Mitty but I think I'll have to wait until next year for that. Who else is going to New Jersey in May?

I bet they were planning on stealing it until they took the cover off and saw what it was. :D

You're keeping the egr? Do you still do emissions?

Absolutely.

That would be the most epic arrangement. Make sure to include sleeping quarters for when the project inevitably doesn't get finished that day!

I work pretty quickly at my job. But when I'm not on the clock, I work super freaking slowly. I feel bad for poor Peaches when we were swapping head gaskets on my KL. It took two days. Sorry, Peaches! haha

Remember when you did you motor swap and everyone was telling you to slow down? Man, you got pissed. (even moreso than usual, lulz)

ps- sweet pics, AJ. Also, I don't know if you're still looking for tires but I forgot I have two Yokahama Parada Spec2's with about 1/4 tread left size 215/40-17. But I'll need the money upfront. ;)

Oh yeah, and get this, this guy in a Jeep swerves to hit me in my work parking lot Friday morning and honks his horn at me. I was like "Who the fuuuu..". Turns out my dad traded in his 2011 Mazda3 for a Jeep. RIP Mayhem. haha But he wants to sell his 18" black Drag 34 wheels/tires if anyone is interested. They are about 3 months old. I can get pics. He didn't mention anything to me about trading his 3. He traded it in with the Corksport intake while his factory intake is sitting in my attic. Talk about impulse buy. He's just as bad as Kevin. haha
