I swapped Skunk2 upper control arms/ball joints into my 97 EK Civic without any problems and it was an Ohio car it's whole life. And that was before I owned an impact wrench. I'm sure you can handle it, beefcake.

OK I gotta share this with you guys, I can't get over it... LMAO... any guesses who it is?
Shouldn't be too much I would imagine, but every shop is different. And that's IF they can get him in ASAP. I called a few small shops when I needed to get the P5 running again, and none of them could get me in for a few days.
Where at in Akron? Does he/do you know what the problem is yet? Or is this all just forum speculation from looking at a sideways shot of a car with the wheel still on?

Forum speculation, but people on here, his roommate who is knowledgeable on Hondas, and the shop who will be doing the work are all saying the same thing. The car is somewhere in Stow.
I would say I'll swap ball joints for your friend since Stow is just up the street from me. But ball joints, in the cold, without air tools = no fun. Plus your friend will need an alignment afterwards anyway. The shop should only charge 1 hour for a ball joint swap on an EK Civic.

He messed up his car last night. He went to drive it this morning and the thing broke. His friend emailed some pictures to the local repair shop today since they were closed. The shop responded this afternoon. I'm not sure if he got a quote or not.

lulz yeah, he was dancing Reggaeton with these two girls, we were at a club called DNA level C. Turns out, Doc is quite the salsa dancer, old white man's got some moves... we were out Saturday and Sunday with some of his friends. It was a lot of fun, can't remember the names of half the girls I danced with (some I didn't even ask...)
Evan's old bones don't handle the cold very well... but it doesn't bother me. I'd be willing to help out if needed.
