The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Gotcha.

Yea, I was wondering about the wheels too. That's fine that he has 2 sets, but what if they're some ugly ass rims that I wouldn't even rock. lol I'm pretty sure he said they are 16's.

I really wasn't sure about the leather as well. One of this thing's primary uses, is to haul my 2 boxers around. I didn't want them putting holes in the seats or something. They would be folded down, but sometimes the dogs get wild and jump all over the car! Also, sitting on an ice cube in the winter doesn't sound like fun to me. There's no ass warmers like our Trailblazer has!

The factory leather isn't too bad. Pretty durable, but for pup-hauling, I'd opt against it. The cool thing is that you can totally remove the lower halves of the seats and the uppers lay perfectly flat.

yep, hence why I'm gonna have The Phen's extra set of 16 p5's for winter and my set of 16' Motegi's for summer. I've got an extra set of MSP springs if you end up with a pro/pro5.

How much of a drop do they provide? If any? I haven't gotten around to researching springs/drops yet.

IIRC somewhere around 1.25-1.5" it's not a drastic drop, more of a better spring rate.

I've got a set of these in the garage as well. Drop is around 0.75 - 1". Not a crazy drop, but makes for a nice suspension setup for a DD.

I don't ever remember your car having any rust on it.

He's been pretty good at keeping up with it in the spring.

Sounds right up my alley then! I'd like a little better look, but not some slammed, bouncing all over the place, ride.

This Guy seems set around the $4000 mark though, so it seems like a long shot with this one. We'll have to see if he still has it once our refund comes in, maybe he'll be hard up to sell it then. He made mention of a speed 3 5 sp in Cbus that took him forever to find. Hopefully he wants to get rid of the car ASAP so he can jump on that one.

True. But, it would likely take a good amount of money to buy the right setup to achieve that perfect balance. Unless I'm mistaken, because again, I haven't researched suspension mods yet.

I know to be the lowest and not rub your tires over every bump and dip on the Colorado's, you need about $600-$1000 worth of coil overs just in the front end alone!

^^^Wow....that's effed up. What is with all the PC BS....people these days are too uptight about stupid $hit.

Oh yeah, morning!

I remember reading an article somewhere about the difference between someone being offended and something being offensive. Somewhere along the line we've become confused and equated the two.

Same here in PA and it certainly feels more like a fall day vs opening day! lol

I'm friggin steamed. Autozone can't get the parts that I need, Ford discontinued them, Summit doesn't stock them.... I have to check with Mazda later, if they can get it, it'll undoubtedly be a special order part, just like every thing else for my car. So, it looks like my car won't be at the BBQ, but I guess I'll still be able to make it. The best information I've gotten so far was the guy at Summit, he said to take the housing off and take it and the cv shaft to Akron Bearing and see what they can do. Unfortunately, the bolts on the housing are rusted to it, so I'll have to go buy more jack stands so I can jack the stupid car up high enough to fit my breaker bar under it. I'm about to just light it on fire and claim the insurance. This really has me reconsidering the KL swap. I just can't believe a 15 year old car has parts that are not made any more. I'm just mad at the auto industry as a whole, now...

I haven't checked Rock Auto yet, but I don't even know what the part it called since every stupid manual has a different name for it. Ugh, I don't remember the last time I got mad about something...

I need the seal, but the one on the left (in the picture) side of the housing, same part number as the one that's circled. And I need the little C ring that holds in the cv shaft. How hard is it to find a stupid little C ring. Autozone had it listed as N/A, not just out of stock, they just don't ever have it..

I know some of you guys have older cars, where do you get "rare" parts like this? And how do you figure out what they're called? lol

Drawing a blank? AZ won't have s*** like that. Probably a dealer part only unless you use a junkyard part. Might be worthit depending onhow much the stealership wants.

I usually just replace the entire assembly, try to cross reference part numbers to find the closest thing out there on another application, or have something custom made.

What exactly are you trying to do again?

I assume this is for a Ford Probe?

Best advice I can offer is to get the corresponding Mazda P/N from a MX-6 parts catalog and go to OnlineMazdaParts. If anything comes up you'll have to wait for it, but I've never come across a part they can't get.
