The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Hahaha. I'm off Friday. Been too busy around the office lately. Tomorrow is going to be damn nuts.

for those of you who have taken off the egr on the intake on the protege, how do you get the bolt for the pipe off?

Nate, the front motor mount is a piece of cake. Just jack up the front of the motor a wee bit to take off some of the load. Then unbolt it from the cross member thang (2 bolts, 14mm I believe) and the 17mm (I believe) bolt/nut through the mount. Then replace it and bolt the new one back in. I expected it to be a pian but honestly took me 15 mins. Very simple. And for the EGR tube I just used plenty of PB Blaster to soak it with then used a pair of vise grips so I didn't round it off, and use some muscle. Well, a lot of muscle. Mine came out okay and and Ivans too. Just wear a pair of gloves so you don't bust your knuckles.

It's been soaking with some PB blaster, need to find my vise-grips. Not to worried about the front mount, it's more to get Chris to my garage. Once he's here I know he can't help but pick up a wrench

Haha! Werd. Yeah, soak that biotch for a while then just go to town. I think I may have just used a pair of channel locks on the first time to loosen it and the vise grips to tighten it because I chewed up the nut. It's a tough little bugger but you'll get it. No worries.

I guess you can help with mine on Saturday...hahahahahahahaha

I don't have a job...I'm a teacher, or at least pretending to be one for the next few weeks. So I dress professionally trying to impress prospective employers. At my job as a sales associate working retail on the weekend, I wear dress pants, polo and an apron!

all fittings are in, fuel rail and 440cc injectors bolted on

now I just need to get the throttle body on and old intake off (letting the EGR bolt soak in PB blaster)

nate, we gotta find you an upgraded fuel rail. it just doesn't look right with that nice manifold with a oem fuel rail...

yeah, but perrins are hard to come by and usually alot of money. It'll do for now.

Hopefully those manifolds make more of a difference on the FS-DE than they do on the Honda B18's. Not enough flow, and they loose power.

Nate, that looks serious! What kind of power goals are you shooting for?

Honestly when i started getting parts it was just to improve the quality of the stock parts but after getting a bunch of deals it's kinda turned into something kinda serious. I would have been happy with 180ish at the wheels but now I'm thinking I should be closer to 220 given The Godfather's dyno results

I need to get all my pics together and make a build thread one of these days

Yeah you do. I love build threads. I lurk a lot.

And there was a cat selling fuel rails a while ago. He was making a GB but I didn't really follow it closely. They were nice looking pieces though.

yeah, I think I know which gb your talking about but it would be arod $500 for the complete system or $200ish for the rail and you had to source some of your own parts
