The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

ill tell you now you wont see it unless you have more mods by then, even then its doubtful

Well I just ordered my carbon fiber racing stickers so I should be at about 250. I just need some help with the installation though! I would say a clutch replacement is easier HAHAHA

Who knows what's next for Victoria...I say I want to stay somewhat stock...we will see how long that lasts haha!!

yeah last year there was a guy with intake, front mount, downpipe back exhaust and the cobb accessport (maybe a few mods im forgetting) and he was around 220 something whp if i remember right

Holy crap that's low!! So that means there's like 40hp less from powertrain loss??

its approximately 28% loss from crank to real life whp according to what mike has seen since owning the dyno

remember his dyno is a mustang dyno (known as the heartbreaker) cause it adds load to simulate the weight of the car and the resistance it would have to rolling on a road, so even though the mustang reads low, its going to be most accurate to what your car makes when your driving in the real world (and his numbers/configuration for 1/4 mile time and real world drag times seemingly almost always match up within 2 tenths of a second in the 1/4 mile)

Ahhh that makes sense then. I've seen a lot of base dynos for the speed3 with people making like 250-260 stock. I always wondered why there were some a lot lower. Different dynos make a realllly big difference then.

Did Pablo ever run his speed3 there?

no

and yea there are different kind of dynos that read higher or lower

if you just want a big number just go to a dynojet as they seem to read the highest, haha

Haha! I want RL numbers. And I would like to see the gains after mods :)

What did your car put down?

142 at the wheels last year (stock is ~117) so ive gained 25whp with the mods ive done which is pretty impressive IMO

put the car on a slight diet (lighter wheels), new clutch, lightweight flywheel and trans mount this coming year will be the difference of the mods

That is pretty damn good.

The new mods hopefully will help out and minimize the loss

That one dark blue MS3 put down the 220whp right, Levi? That was a really nice car. And the Dyno-Day was pretty fun and Mike (and Micah) is a super nice guy. There's an article in Modified Magazine about the different kinds of dynos that's pretty interesting. And like what Mike says, the Mustang Dyno is the heartbreaker. haha! I was just shooting for 100whp and I would've been happy. Some cats go to a dyno just get a print off of a big horsepower number for bragging rights but dynos are actually used for tuning. But it's always good to see what numbers are being put down to ground. :)

Heck, I'm kinda of glad I have low whp, it means I won't get myself into trouble. I need more track time to be a better driver. Horsepower numbers don't mean much if you're still getting lapped by a low WHP car on the track.

And Levi, I think your car feels really good after the clutch and flywheel. It really pulls nicely and sounds even meaner. How's the clutch feeling no, btw?

I've been hooked on COD MW2 for my xbox the last month or so. It's my new way of relieving stress after a long day at the shop. ha ha ha I have the first 4 grand turismo games for ps and ps2.

dont ms3's heat soak pretty fast on the dyno too? i thought i heard that. the first run will be good, then it is all down hill from there.

Heat soak sucks! This car lovessss cold weather though! In the summer, it heat soaks way too easily! FMIC probably helps a lot

I played GT4 soooooooooo much!!! Love that game! MW2 (PC) pisses me off too much, so I barely play it anymore haha. Damn hackers!

Yeah, GT4 was a good game. We even had a steering wheel and pedals set up at the Mazda dealership I worked at.
