The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

it really doesnt have a smell.. its def not sweet and really doesnt smell like any oil smoke ive smelled before.. i know the old turbo is gone.. i guess i really just need to swap it out and see if i can slowly figure the car out.. guess the only good thing is that i only have about $5500 in the car..

thinking of doing an ignition system to go along with the haltech, but i have a feeling that will be more trouble than it's worth.

Unless you're going for big power (aka not just bolt ons), then an ignition system is likely overkill and very unnecessary. Did you change your plans and decide to do a big build? A while back I remember reading that you didn't want to do more than bolt-ons.

still the same, unless the engine goes boom. some sorta standalone/piggyback was always in the plans to maximize performance and reliablity just needed to figure out what would be better (for only a couple hundred more and any future build standalone seems to make the most since). Saw an ignition system and got me thinking about it.

why the hell would you put best offer on something then send a response saying you can't go any lower than the listed price. what a dumbass.

i made an offer and this was my response and counter offer of 94 cents lower than the listed price: "unfortunately i can't take best offers on this package unless it is for a bigger package. Are you shopping for anything else? contact us sales@realstreetperformance.com"

I declined and said I don't own a Honda so there's not much else they carry that could help me out.

I hate that. I've ran into that a few time on eBay while shopping for parts too. My favorite is when things are listed with a starting price/bid for $100 and the listing says "NO RESERVE!". Oy.

What's happening folks?

So... I'm thinking I may be hitting up Tire Rack for a pre-mounted set winter tires and wheels. Anyone interested in some 03 Protege wheels? I only have two sets of them... LOL.

Hmm, I'll have to keep that in mind if I end up doing the Mazda 6 "BBK" for the 626. There's no way my 14's will clear the 6 brakes.

Yeah... I was going to go with 15's but I have the MSP "bbk" on my P5. Won't clear. The 16 work, but it's almost cheaper to buy the tires already mounted to wheels. It's up in the air.

Ummm... good question. I think $100 for 4 wheels with s*** tires attached is reasonable?

I'm home all the time, Chris. I'll PM you my cell if you guys make a deal.

I'm not going to BS you and say they're perfect. Some have some curb rash, some have brake dust embedded in the finish due to a stuck caliper in the rear, but great for winter duty.

Ok, this might read like War and Peace, but i wil ltry to keep it short and sweet! This evening Sandi Kryder of Kryder Racing, What nice people and very knowledgeable folks and they are willing ot help us future and current racers. Here is their web addy: www.kryderracing.com. Matt Miller is their shop manager and has been a crew chief on a number of Koni/Conti series cars. , he is very knowledgable on roataries as well, as that is what he races. Here is what we workedd out so far.

1. Shop tour-In a few months we will head out and see their shop in Canal Fulton.

2. We will work out what services that each of you want, for example matt is going to work with me on suspension set up and corner balancing, as we will be experimenting with different springs and rear sway bars.

3. We are looking at having a Mazda Fun day @ Nelson Ledges, with personal instruction from Reed, Matt, rob and some of their other drivers, I will assist as well.

All in all, we should be set once we work out what everyone is looking for to enhance their cars. The object here is to spend moeny wisely and put it where it will do the most good.

That is it for know guys & gals....

winter wheels don't have to be pretty. they'll prolly have noisy tires anyway. gotta get thru the snow somehow
