The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I'd rather go with Nissan or Toyota motors. (shrug)

we need cheap, reliable power if we are going to start building our own cars and honda offers us the best power per cost IMO

please tell me which nissan or toyota motors we could find as easily and cheaply as a honda motor that are both reliable and potent for the size/cost etc etc

^K series Honda motors aren't cheap.

Smaller RB 6 cyl motors are not hard to come by... And they hold boost well and are reliable. Not to mention, they are already and oriented properly to run RWD... I'm not trying to build a FWD car. Just saying... ;)

No offense to Mazda... but I'd use Mazda suspension designs with better engines.

yeah after thinking about it, i like my car cause of the handling, the engine could def use more than just a turbo slapped on

depending on what type of mpg's we'd be after, small block chevys are a dime a dozen and so are parts

i never said anything about a k series motor being the honda motor of choice

if we are building a car here im sure most of us want lightweight, good acceleration, and good handling... keeping the weight down around 2000 or even less (highly preferred) a motor cranking out the power of a stock h23 (which can be had for 500 or so) would def. be sufficient

and just cause you have a fwd motor doesnt mean its going to be fwd, think ariel atom ;)

you do that....

id MUCH rather prefer to build something from scratch then ever taint a 1jz by putting it into a protege :P

areil(sp) atom has a civic si motor witha super charger at around 300 hp and they mounted it in the back making it a rear engine rwd and i think the car is under 1000lbs

clarkson drove one and i thought he said si motor, but definitly a superchager. either way my point was we could use a fwd motor and place it in the rear

i know that the k20 is the si motor, i meant they use the base motor not supercharged motor.... but have an option for the supercharger

i was a honda owner before the mazda i know what motors are in what cars... lol
