I'm really liking his mustang..the look (color and stance and all) and the sound and power seems like its a pretty fun car. Maybe not Mazdaspeed twisty status, but I bet straightline, throw-back-in-your-seat type fun.
Yeah Evan, I wrench a lot but I am clueless in JDM-land. I grew up listening to my dad talk about his AMC AMX Javelin with a 401 engine and other American Muscle. That 1984 mustang v6 had, like, 5 wires and a bunch of unbreakable steel stuff. Working on that is 1000000 times easier than our cars now... i just don't know enough terms, have enough money, and don't have enough time under the hood put into my MS3--yet!

Holy sidewalls. Haha! They look good, James. Justine needs to meet Katie's white Mazda3 with pink accessories everywhere.

There will be an AMC AMX running in th SU Class at Mid-Ohio this weekend. I am sure your dad will wax nostalgia looking at it on track.
Evan- I'm gonna try Motomotion first: they are only ten minutes away, and the owner knows my dad through AMX clubs a long time ago. On the phone, I guess they said it would be about $40 per wheel and that they couldn't confirm whether or not they could do it until they see the actual wheel. I hope to have them on Saturday to take them up to MotoMotion on Monday at the soonest. I don't know how long they will take, though!
Marlon- Has that AMX been there before this season, because I don't remember, but at the same time I haven't ever really seen the SU class run-just HPDE and TT so far. I will be staying the entire event this time, so I'm excited he'll get to see that. He sold his AMX when I was born to pay for me... I regret being born sometimes, because his car would be worth $50,000+ now LOL. Luckily he swapped out the engine and we still have the 401 block, pistons, rods, everything... A $800 rebuild kit would get the engine cranking again, but alas, nothing to put it in...
My dad loves coming to these meets and events, because I think he remembers all the car shows he went to when he was my age with his AMX. You know that one car show in Brunswick they still run on saturday nights? That was his Superfly Sunday back then!

Well this thread exploded (as usual) while I was at work, but I'd just love to see his face after getting beaten by an NA FS-DE...
And the other retard that was riding with my friend in the stang constantly rags on Mazda. It's ridiculous. He fully believes that Oldsmobile is God's gift to the automotive world... And he thinks his Alero is the baddest thing ever, it's infuriating. I can't wait to build up the next Miata and not tell anyone what it's got and just see their faces. "Oh s*** that little cute thing just ate my Alero race car!" Actually I was 100% surprised that he (Alero boy) didn't leave a comment on FB reminding me how gay both my cars are. To which I would have invited him to the local 5$ autocross on Sunday night. And welcomed him to bring any car he could get his hands on, only to lose to my 1200$ rust bucket. The kid I bought the Miata from got it because he got tired of having his 03 Corvette get beaten by his dad's Miata at the autocross tracks...

**** the haters. Oh... becareful while driving thru Ravenna or Brimfield. The rednecks there are quite vocal about guys driving Miatas. I've had to make a few of them deaf and spit a fireball at them a few times.

Alero and race car do not belong in the same sentence together. I tried some quick research, and the v6 engine has 170hp/210tq. Curb weight sits right at about 3000 pounds (which was surprising). But from my 30 second research, I may be wrong but, the v6 engine comes automatic tranny only. So if your buddy has a stick, it has a 4 cylinder, which means 140hp/150tq. Even if he has modded it, the aftermarket for the freakin' Alero cannot be that big!
The miata has either 120hp/100tq (1.6L) or 131hp/tq unknown. It weighs 2200 pounds divide the weight by the horsepower to get a rough ratio--miata is 18.333 pounds per hp---the biggest engine Alero is slightly better at 17.647 pounds per hp.... But handling wise and with a bigger aftermarket available, the miata is the truer "race car"

Ahh, Phen, that's the problem, I live in Ravenna... So far I've had overwhelmingly positive comments about the car (despite how it looks...), besides my idiotic friends.
You can't argue with people that think the only kind of racing goes down in a straight line... But I guess that's all you have to brag about when you drive an Oldmobile, cus they don't handle so hot. The kid with the Alero has the v6 coupe, and I've got the 1.6, so it's the worst combo for a straight line throw down, but I'm not about to give that to him. There's no way he could keep up through the corners. I've been in it, and even with 225's it plows like a snow truck.
Ahh, you guys are hilarious, and uplifting. I've had a blast with this car, already. Fun per dollar, I couldn't beat it, probably ever.
BTW, I saw a black MSP in the KSU parking lot today. The plate said FLNSGRL, so I'm guessing someone on here will know who that is. I think she may have stolen my heart driving an MSP, but she sounds kinda taken...
