The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

O... I'm gonna try and wrap the headliner in plaid, too. ;)

What kind of fabric did you use for the rest then?

just a flannel material i bought at jo-ann fabrics

i thought about the headliner but felt it would be too mcuh

Well, we'll find out... ;)

I'm not going to wrap nearly as much of the other trim pieces as you did tho... Probably just the headliner, door panel inserts, and maybe a couple other things, but right now I'm just going to do the headliner and door panel inserts.

How did you guys go about wrapping these parts? I really want to wrap the door panels in the RX-7 in the same material my Sparco seats are in. Need to ditch the 80's-themed fabric going on in there.

Ha! Yes, worst part, by far of the fc is the god awful interior... I don't even know how to describe that material in the door panels...

O and as far as the procedure, I haven't done any of mine yet. But get the surfaces super clean, get a very good spray adhesive and move slowly & carefully. Work through sections at a time if doing a large area (like a headliner). I'm wondering if scoring/roughing up the contact surface will help the adhesive stick better also...

so i miss the fender rolling shindig but am free on the 10th. anything happening on that date around here?

my plans already include the full service wash n wax, interior/exterior/engine bay the whole nine yards

Looking forward to seeing your plaid, ucMP3. MonkeyAss's interior looks REALLY nice. Like a Jackie Stewart edition M3.

Thanks for reminding me I've got the leather door inserts that match my seats I need to do one of these weekends.

monkey ass need to redo his stuff... hahaha

the passenger side door and drivers side back door are bubbling a lil so i need to redo them haha

I'm looking forward to Saturday. Hopefully a few folks show up.

Bah! Front tires are hitting the spring perches on the coilovers. Used the strut mounts and was able to stop contact at +0.5 deg of camber (doesn't make sense to me as the entire wheel/strut combo moves together when you adjust camber via strut mount). So I have a plan to alleviate this - CAMBER BOLTS! Since camber bolts adjust camber from the bottom of the strut I can use those to dial in some positive camber to get the tire away from the strut and then use the strut mount to dial the negative camber back in. Does this make sense?

Haha I'm here freaking out because I'm running around with +0.5 degrees of camber on the front and -3 in the rear! The front tires are now DANGEROUSly close to the front fender (when I get this resolved, I'll show everyone what I mean - I'm at the very limit for tire/wheel width in the front).

Went ahead and ordered some bolts, only $30, which is cheaper than the other option which was some 5 mm spacers which would only make the wheels stick out farther (no hellaflush for me :))

Don't see why that won't work. You should post in the slammed thread about your hellaflush maxxed neg camber baller setup! (lol2)

I don't see 5mm spacers making you hellaflush tho. Probly not even flush...

I'm surprised camber bolts cost $30, also. I think mine were ~$12?
