The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

So just noticed I crossed the 1,000 post mark about 10 posts ago lol.

Ya know, I have an EK Civic laying around with an engine swap in it not doing much...

because daily driver.

Because broken car. :D (Just kidding around, buddy. I'm catching up to you on the flowerpots.)

And I just picked up the issue this morning at the grocery store. I chuckled when I saw it and was like "Oh man, Phen is gonna love this...".

Peach, can you "fix" the steering column so you won't need your key? I remember we went though all this with the 3 and there wasn't a way to get around the key fob. It would be fun to have a push-start on the P5 and eliminate the need for the key entirely (other than to lock the doors) but the button would get worn out since my car doesn't like to start when cold. heh-heh

Is there a way to make it so you could use one of the wireless keys where you can just keep in your pocket to start the vehicle, but if you don't have it close ... no dice?

True story man. It'll be fixed soon. Looks like fixing the P5 is a higher priority right now... grrr. Oh well, at least the Bav is fixed and running.

maybe with a remote start and you figure out a way to by pass the the kill switch

Here's an idea,

Flyin' Miata are good people. Give them a call. They've done it. Explain your situation and say that you're considering bypassing the Immobilizer module. Ask if they have any suggestions on how to do so. Keith will probably give either an answer, or a direction to go with.

there is actually, a friend on mine in Colombia made a device specifically for that with RFID tags. I could make one here myself but I'm too lazy... I still have the tag from the device I had in Colombia. If you're interested let me know and I'll ask how much it would cost and/or give you more details

after reading Wills post, looks like it might be easier on this car (or it might be the same for every car) so I wil look into it. On the drive home I was trying to figure out when I would put this stuff, there's not a lot of options... I'm in no hurry so I'll put some thought into it.

I received the 9006 HID bulbs today and left them at work, would like to put those on sometime but depending on the weather I might have to wait till next year

I have a wedding saturday (yuck) but you can come over early saturday (like 10am-ish) for your HID's.

^^^ Doh, forgot already. Well next weekend is the Halloween part-tay. I think it will be another 2 weeks for the swap. I want to have more monies saved up. We can do them next weekend, don't you worry your perty little head.

our company has an 18 wheeler with an interactive display that helps promote our services all over the country, it's going to be in Shreveport this weekend. I volunteered a while back but was only able to go somewhere now that we're not so busy, check it out

What's happening folks?

Pablo, have fun with that. We have a few vendors that have trucks with their product installed that come in now and then. Always neat to see things like that.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I miss traveling for work. What are they going to have you doing while you're down there?
