The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

YOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! What's up everyone?? Finals are over! I finally have a life (kind of)!

So there's a NASA Mid-Ohio event in July that I really want to go to. Anyone planning on going? It's getting closer and closer

I'm most likely signing up for HPDE1, but I need a NASA Membership. I can't remember where I saw it, but someone posted something that would get us a free 1-year membership???? Idk if that was valid or not but that would be sweet HAHA!

I'm seriously looking into it. I have 3 track events before that though :D

I saw the winner card in the last NASA thread and saved it to my computer.

Late 30 minutes to my first exam and next one is at 1:15, I think lol! Can't wait for this weekend. It's been a while since I've gotten close to being s*** faced, not literally. The key is to know when to stop and eat as much Little Ceasars pizza as you can followed by 2 Tylenol = Good Times.

Ooooo sweet that's what I saw...and I apparently already had it in my downloads folder HAHAHA

So we just need to fill that out and mail/email it to them somehow? Or do we have to bring it to the next NASA Event and do it in person?

Edit: Found info about the winner card and how they get you the membership fees here.

Sounds like you buy the year membership, then turn in the winner card when you check-in at the event. After the event is over they credit you the $45 somehow.

Ya I just looked on their site and found it http://www.nasamidwest.com/pages/nasa_docs.asp?doc=Winner_Card_Program

It says it's only valid for the 2011 season, and the one that Mark Domo gave us says 2010 season on it, so idk. Maybe Marlon can chime in on this?

Which events are you planning on running?
I am thinking of running the scca pdx at midohio on May 20th, or Beaver Run on May 13th or the 29th. I will be signing up for hpde at Mid Ohio in July as well.

or just pay for the damn membership... its only 45 bucks for the whole year

That's almost a full tank of gas LOL...plus, by doing the Winner card thing, we'd be helping out Mark. He would get a point for each person that signs up for an event. If he gets 8 points, he gets a free track weekend.

Just do the winner card @ the July event and enter my name and they will credit you the $45 for the membership. I think you can use it as a credit toward an event.

June 3-5 with PCA at Mid-Ohio.
June 18-19 with PCA at Nelson Ledges.
July 8 with PCA at Nelson Ledges.

The first event is one of the best deals for track time at Mid-Ohio I've found. It's 3 days with 4 - 30 minute sessions per day for $375 ($425 with an instructor).

In a training class, bored to death....trying to keep awake, at least the trainer has a sense of humor and likes trivial pursuit, he can't stump me at all!

Hahaha, nice. I've been doing some browsing for some information that I need. Boring.

I now have a taste for what Jasen's commute is like 'looking down on the masses'. lol

My rental for the day while Tamz car is at the dealer getting some work done under a TSB.

I'm looking for a truck, after I sell the Miata, to drive while I do my swap, and during this winter. I don't need anything fancy, but I'd prefer 4x4 (knowing me and my friend, we'd get it stuck somewhere retarded asap otherwise), and it has to be a manual. I'm leaning towards an old Toyota or Nissan Hardbody, but there's like nothing on craigslist. The only ones that aren't destroyed in rust are from the south and have no winters, and I don't want to pay the premium price and then drive it in the winter and lose the resell value...

Two of my former college roommates drive trucks and I'd hate to park the damn thing as weak as that sounds. It would be nice to have a comfortable tow rig on the other hand :D
