The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

He has a thread for it. Hole in oil pan, he pulled a seriously bent rod and other parts from it.

Son of a .......

I guess I suck for missing easily linked threads. Also, how the hell did he bend a rod that bad?

Only thing I can think of is they were winding it out and missed an up shift. Like trying to go 2-3 and hit 1 or 4-5 and hit 3 then kaboom

I'm not sure it would go that wompus on a missed shift. I would think there would be more head damage than rod damage, but what do I know. I've seen someone in a 6i stretch a rod during an autox run.

Is it the 1.6 or the 1.8? What are your motor plans, junkyard swap?

I am ordering a motor from Japan on Monday. Doing two VVT jobs this weekend and that will pay for it.

Do you think the transmission is ****** too if they missed a shift?

I hope not. I mean I will find out I guess. It has 152k miles so the clutch is getting replaced while I'm in there and everything from Mazda is so damn cheap that I don't have an excuse to not do it

Transmissions can be rebuilt pretty easily. SM guys do it all the time.

I'm sorry homie. There is a 1.8 for sale near me. Just rip that one out plop the new one in and build the one you have to handle the boobs

He would need a new computer to go with that 1.8 because it is from an NA. Probably some other differences as well.

The transmissions are cheap to buy used too, if i remember correctly.

Every girl that has seen pictures of it or has seen it loves it so far so I think it attracts the proper kinds of boobs. I figured the base 1.8 would be the same. Like the bottom end. Levi may just be able to rip his out and drop this one in. I'll read up

Edit: So far what I am seeing is that there is just ports for water/oil that the normal 1.8 does not have. Sorry Levi I thought I was onto something. The rods and pistons are the same though

It's all good. Having a wrenching day on July 19th to hopefully put her back together... Hopefully that fixes it
