The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

^^Exactly. 26k* but this was some guys weekend fun cruise with the top down and pick up other guys car.
Nice! I had no issues during the winter with winter tires, and I might have a few parts you might me interested in (including the leather tonneau). And 26k miles is insane! I love mine.

I assume its fully stock?
I'll have winter tires on order as soon as the paperwork goes through. Appears to be 100% stock other than the hideous grill.

Maybe... value of the MSM's have tanked, so unless you got that thing for 7k, you may only break even in the spring.
You're not that far off Phen! It helps that the car actually books out at around $11,850-$13k. Either way I won't be selling it that quickly.
Omg it's in chicago?!?! I wouldn't. people are terrible on their cars up there. Stop go stop go. Plus the salt. Plus the shady ass prick dealers.
The nice thing is, the car isn't from the Chicago area. It's actually a Georgia car that was then moved up to Minnesota and then traded in on a car at the dealership I'm getting it from who specializes in higher end cars. This car will get undercoated in my special sauce within a few days of getting here, lol.

I had only driven Phen's once before I got mine, after we put the 5 speed in it. You can take mine for a spin, but that might not be good for your wallet

I might take you up on that. I'm still a bit pessimistic on moving to a lower power car so I would love a chance to drive some modified MSM's.

might have half the power of an ms3, but it also weighs half as much AND is proper wheel drive so you can put power down better. dont knock the "lawn mower power" til youve actually driven the car.

AHH that's better. Still dealers in Chi-town will try to screw you over up and down all the way round.

I understand that but I'm still used to vehicles with more power. IDK, we'll see... I do have a blast in my FIL's MG Midget.

Which makes it a good thing this dealer is "going out of business" (merging with a larger dealer) and wholesaling this car to me at a crazy price since I'm another dealer, haha.

The car makes up for the lack of power (compared to an MS3) with handling and overall fun to drive. Properly modded, it is much better. Depending on how deep your pockets are, it can be faster than an MS3 (in a straight line).

Phen says I'm nuts but I'm thinking somewhere between 250-300hp would be fun. Not much matches the highway speed of the MS3 and they're two totally different animals but I have to have my 40-80mph passing power. Damn tourists.

Hell my car feels fast just because there is no weight in it, but Phen's feels way faster than mine in autoX even though the times say different. After riding with him I could have swore he beat me by at least 2 seconds.

if you are this insistent on a miata not being any good without 250-300hp, that kind of car likely isnt for you. its a drivers car and not about straightline speed. stick with your Mazspeed srt4 or go get a mustang

lul....

I have a Mustang thats in the build process with an end goal of making about 4x's the power my MS3 makes, haha. I see nothing wrong with having beastly power as long as the car still handles well. I'm sure I'll start slow and work my way up with this car.

What you did there, I see it.

lol. LS swap!

When I first got the car, I pulled on Ted's MS6 on a 50-90 pull. Stock turbo, bad tune. Result was still the same.

I'm bored as hell right now. I went to school at 9am only to find out the class was cancelled and don't have class until 3:30.

I don't remember that, but that is impressive. I believe we were keeping up with Coyne's car at the BW3 meet, but I don't think he was going all out. I couldn't keep up with V and Evan, but that might change after the Hydra is on. I might not pass them, but I might be able to stay closer.

250-300 does sound a bit much, then again my car feels slow right now (at 192). I've already put a decent amount of money on the car, to get there I'd have to shed another $5k...
