Got pulled over this morning (1:20 AM), he let me go with a warning. As the officer walks away he points to my radar detector and says "Don't waste your money on that, those things don't work".

I beg to differ...

I could never understand if the cops are really that clueless or they are trying to get people to stop using the detectors by telling everyone those don't work.

pretty sure mine has given me plenty of warnings before I can even see the cop and made it so I don't get a ticket. So he can suck it

I stopped using mine a while back. I always seemed to get more tickets / pulled over more when using it than when not using it.

Sometimes I just drive and don't look at the speedo, I'm not flying but I'm not going the speed limit. I just wanted to get home and shower.

Also, when I handed him my license he asked me where I was coming from, told him I was working as a valet downtown. Then when he gives it back, he asks if there's any drugs or weapons in the car...

"Then why are you so sweaty? "

"I'm a valet, I have to run. I've been running since 5:30"

"OK, well that's good for you. Stop driving like an asshole."

haha I don't drive over too much but I like that added insurance knowing what I'm coming up on. And I bought a nice detector so its not like it goes off all the time

I'm somewhat of a human radar detector, so I don't really see the need for one. Especially since I try to not speed in traffic or on specific sections of highways I travel constantly and know every cop hiding spot haha

Is there a Menchie's meet tonight in Fairlawn? If so, what time? Jessica and I can stop by!

yeah i stick with the if you are observant and keep an eye on your speed (in accordance with the limit) and keep an eye on the road you are more than likely going to be fine.

My wife has always said the same about me but my radar detector has been on the fritz lately. Two violations within a year. I'm out of that range now but I only have two left until June/July, lol. If I get more than that I can lose my job.


I'll be up at Menchies if everything goes well for setting up the garage sale tonight.

Ya definitely don't lose your job over speeding tickets! HAHA you can check your unofficial driving record online and I'm happy I only have 2 speeding tickets on my record right now. I tend to get at least 1 ticket every year, somehow I haven't had one this year (KNOCK ON WOOD).
