The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I just had two separate customers call me to modify their orders they placed yesterday or today and are upset their order already shipped. Oh, I'm sorry I work quickly to have your order shipped. lulz.

Has anyone heard in the news about the wireless car hacks? Here's a video showing it in action. Pretty scary s***!

Did anyone else notice the troll from Oms change his name from Adam Herrilow to Adam Randolph Marcus and his profile pic from a MS6 to a MS3?

LOL that's pretty stupid. He should have just made a new profile.

I'm guessing they did a little more than just "wirelessly connect" to the car... although anyone with the knowledge of low level programming can probably figure it out.
"flooding the can bus" isn't really a new or unknown thing. Look at any tuning guides. That's why you can only poll so many parameters so many times a second - can bus has a limit and in most cases it's not very high.
I'll be all you need is a bt or wifi device such as kiwi, hack it to accept / send custom commands, and start experimenting.

I didn't notice because I don't care about that page.

But that's kinda funny nonetheless.

That kind of hacking requires to have a physical connection to the car. Still impressive if you don't know the code, but it takes time if you don't, lots of it.

Heh, I was right last Friday, it sure was the last Menchies day with the FC.

Been a bit busy the past few days

Everyone is doing just fine. Amber is so tired (i am too, but can't be as tired as she is) and doing well. We go home tomorrow, but no menchies for us.

The guy should have sumulated the air bag sensors... Suprise!
