Tire question.

Is it safe to take a 225/45-17 snow tire that was on a 17x7 wheel and put it on a 17x7.5 wheel that recommends using a 225/55-17 tire?

Are those numbers right, Nick? A 255/45 on a 17x7 doesn't seem possible.

255 on a 7?... 255 on a 7.5?... (eek2)

@Patrick... $150-250ish sounds about right to me for both. I paid $85 for just a valve cover a couple years ago. There is a place out by me that did wheels for one of my friends, but their turn around time is terrible. They had his wheels for like 4 weeks or something before they got to them.

I don't care about time. I have spare valve cover and intake manifold. But if they are cheapish then its fine with me. I am looking at just using the high temp paint and doing it myself

I'm guessing he meant 225, but that is still pretty meaty for a 17x7 and a 255 is really meaty for a 17x7.5 Ihave 255's on my 17x9 and they fit perfect if that helps out at all.

I had 225/45-17 on a 17x7 without issues, you'll be fine there. And just fine with a 225/45-17 on a 17x7.5 as well.

But if you really meant 255/45-17 then no. haha

Well this is the last day for internet and cable for me :( No job = cutbacks. Hopefully this website is internet friendly with my phone so I can chime in from time to time. If you guys need to get ahold of me just PM me on FB.

ive run 225 snow tires on 16x7 wheels for many years now, probably as long as ive had my set up... you will be fine with that nick

Will, there is a car club meet at Sonic's parking lot in Parma every wednesday. I went a couple weeks ago and it was pretty nice, good turnout and some nice cars and not nearly as many heaps and ricers as Superfly. But I was told by Jake that Wednesday was kind of a fluke.

I'd stop eating before getting rid of interwebs. How can one survive without it -that's just puzzling to me.

Corey also has kids and a wife to feed.

although i havent had internet for 2 weeks at the house, and oddly enough i cant say i miss it ALL that much. in that time ive been far more active at night, working on the house, organizing things etc etc.
plus id doesnt hurt having access to it all day at work, and i have unlimited data on my phone so its not like i cant use at all haha
