The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I put HPS on the miata this weekend. No squeal :) I resurfaced with a grinding wheel, lol. The rotors were brembo blanks to my surprise. I don't know if whatever pads were on it were just junk or what but they had the warped feel like crazy. I still have it a bit braking hard down from 50+. Beginning to wonder if a wheel bearing can cause that feeling. Still haven't figured out which one is going.
 
Urge to slap brother really high right now. I really think one of us was adopted.

be careful at those race car speeds, I know it has a roll cage and all...


not that I can really say much, my MSP hasn't seen 5 mph since November :(

I have you one better, my 6 hasn't seen those speeds since January of 2010. And to rub it in, a co-worker has a 6 he has been driving.
 
ive never been this excited at 4pm to know ill be coming into work tomorrow!
got summoned for jury duty, called today and even checked the website and both said "By Order of the Honorable _____, President Judge, LEVI C. TOLBERT is hereby NOT REQUIRED to appear as a juror in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County for service on 5/14/2013."

with probably 50-55 hours of work, having to scrape the chimney and repaint tonight and tomorrow night before the rain comes, and jury duty i would not have been sleeping much, but atleast i now dont have to report for jury duty so thats about 10+ hours of my life ill get back! (dance)

Lucky. I was summoned in march for jury duty and used school to get out of it and they just rescheduled me for june instead. I sat on a trial for 9 days in 2010...that sucked. Summit county is so broke we didnt get paid lol.

I'm not a fan of jury duty. I'm glad it's there, but it almost screwed me over when I was summoned 2 years ago to the Federal court in Cleveland. They give you like $20 for the day, which was nothing compared to what I would have made had I worked the 8 hour day! And I NEEDED money at that time. Luckily, I wasn't selected during the jury selection process! I was near the end of the line of jurors so I wasn't selected. So I was there for less than 2 hours, made $20 and then got to go back to work and get paid. So luckily, I didn't take a huge hit financially. I think the trial lasted like 7 or 8 days. I dodged the bullet on that one HAHA

Why aren't you eligible? they use the licences drivers and people with state ID's, not registered voters.

My rx 7 hasn't moved under its own power since the SCCA runoffs were at Mid Ohio.

Well the fenders need to be a bit wider to fit wider tires/ more offset. i was going to open the rear of the panel up to remove air from the fender-well. Need to make a patch panel were the sun roof was.... Most of the work would be to improve aerodynamics. Front spliter, flat bottom, side skirts, rear defuser, etc. Also need to upgrade the radiator and manage air flow in and out of it. Next time your at the track take a look at the front of the K-Pax Volvo radiator/intercooler setup and you will get the idea. The reason i built this instead of a speed is, it was paid for, and I had a bit to much $ in it already, lol. I never planed for it to go this far, but it has, so here i am. I love my car, an could never imagine parting with it. Levi, or any of you guys you are always welcome to hang out. Sorry I haven't been to active on here. Between work/car/kids free time is hard to come by.

I have always heard registered voters. Either way I've never been called.

Edit: maybe they've been using voters instead of licensed drivers?

Jury trials are held in the United States district courts, the common pleas court of each county, the municipal courts, the county courts and, in some cases, juvenile and probate courts. In Ohio, a new list of eligible jurors is compiled each year."

1.5 days until my flight home. Wooo! Thank God. Although, I've been spoiled. It's been in the 80's and "sunny" for the last 3 weeks. I see I'll bring some of the heat back with me.

*"sunny" means that somewhere, where the smog is light, one may be able to see the shape of the sun
